AstrBot
Fourteen official messaging adapters, scheduled tasks and scoped API keys come in one AGPL-3.0 program with releases most weeks. No tool call asks for approval, no mail, calendar or long-term memory connector is built in, and usage statistics, including the machine's hostname, are sent by default.
Tasker AI
Tasker AI is a freemium hosted assistant reached in Slack, WhatsApp, Telegram, SMS and email, with public plan prices from US$0. Its API, MCP and open-source claims couldn't be confirmed on 21 October 2026. No API documentation was found, and the npm package its API page tells developers to install doesn't exist.
Before you call either
AstrBot
- Set
ASTRBOT_DISABLE_METRICS=1before the first start. Statistics, including the hostname, are sent to tickstats.soulter.top by default - Set
dashboard.hostto 127.0.0.1 indata/cmd_config.json, or theDASHBOARD_HOSTvariable, unless remote access is intended. The default is 0.0.0.0 - Create an
abk_key in Settings, OpenAPI with only the scopes needed, and send it asAuthorization: BearerorX-API-Key - Include
usernamein everyPOST /api/v1/chatbody. Without thechat:adminscope an administrator ID is rejected - Check Extensions, Future Tasks after asking for a schedule. One-off tasks are deleted after their run even when the run fails
Tasker AI
- Don't plan to call Tasker from another agent until it publishes API documentation. GET api.tasker.ai/v1/tasks returned 404.
- Don't run npx create-tasker@latest. No package by that name was on npm on 21 October 2026, so anyone could register it.
- Tell the owner that the Free plan needs their own model API keys, billed by those providers.

Disclosure
Tasker AI competes with LocalGhost, which Anchor Terminal's founder builds. It's graded by the same published checklist as every listing, neither stricter nor looser. Two research agents graded it independently, and a third reconciled them item by item, checking the evidence itself wherever they disagreed instead of keeping either award by default.
