Watch for
No idempotency keys in the 132-operation spec, and no Retry-After or backoff guidance for 429
Good for A European shipper or logistics platform with its own carrier contracts that already holds a ShippyPro Enterprise plan and wants rates, labels, pickups and tracking across many regional carriers through one API.
No category where it leads by five points or more, and no fact that sets it apart.
Watch for
The help centre says APIs can only be activated with an Enterprise plan, which has no public price and starts with sales

Verdicts
Easyship
Per-resource read and write scopes, separate sandbox tokens, a 132-operation OpenAPI contract and a 25-tool hosted MCP server with read-only and destructive annotations on every tool. No idempotency keys or Retry-After were found, the MCP server has no test mode, and the API changelog's last entry is dated 30 October 2025.
ShippyPro
Two OpenAPI 3.1 files, a published limit of 20 calls per 10 seconds and a 99.5 per cent monthly SLA with service credits are public. API access needs an Enterprise plan arranged through sales, no changelog or SDK was found, and label creation on v1 has no idempotency key.
Before you call either
Easyship
- Use a sand_ token against https://public-api-sandbox.easyship.com for API tests. Production rejects sandbox tokens, and sandbox allows 6 requests a minute
- The MCP server calls production only. Create the shipment without buy_label first, then call create_label once the user confirms the courier and price
- Don't retry a timed-out label purchase blindly. There's no idempotency key, so read the shipment's label_state first
- Give every item a category or an hs_code. The API rejects shipments and rates requests that have neither
- Stay under 60 requests a minute and 10 a second, and wait for the next window on 429
ShippyPro
- Send
Authorization: Bearer <API key>and POST a JSON body withMethodandParamstohttps://api.shippypro.com/v1/<Method>. Parameter names are case-sensitive - Check
StatusandErrorMessagein everyShipresponse. HTTP 200 withStatus2 means no label was created - Before retrying a failed
Shipcall, look the order up byTransactionID. v1 has no idempotency key, and each label counts against the plan - Test with the Generic carrier.
ShipandEditcalls on a real carrier create real labels - Stay under 20 calls per 10 seconds, and use webhooks for tracking. The docs advise against
GetTrackingin bulk
