How to choose

  1. Typed fields for each questionCheck whether each question type, such as number, date, choice or file upload, is created as a typed field, so an agent can validate answers without parsing text.
  2. Webhook sends and retriesCheck whether each submission is sent by webhook and retried after a failed attempt, since a response that is never received cannot be acted on.
  3. Response paging and filtersCheck how responses are paged and filtered when read back, so an agent can collect every answer from a form without missing or repeating any.
  4. Scopes for each actionCheck whether creating a form, reading responses and registering a webhook need separate scopes, so a token holds only what the task needs.

How the benchmark tests this category. The same ten-question form built through each listing's API, five test responses submitted, and the responses read back and received by webhook. We check field types, validation, response pagination and webhook delivery. In this run listings are graded from public evidence against the published checklist.

Each one in detail

#1

Google Forms API

BB 70.8/100

REST API from Google for creating and editing Google Forms forms and quizzes, reading responses and quiz grades, and subscribing to change notifications through Cloud Pub/Sub. Access is by OAuth 2.0.

Verdict Six OAuth scopes separate form structure from responses, and batchUpdate applies a batch atomically with a revision check. Notifications go only to a Cloud Pub/Sub topic and carry no response data, the API can't list forms or create file upload questions, and the release notes were last updated on 8 April 2025.

Choose it for Agents that build forms and quizzes in a Google account and read the answers back, where people already use Google Forms.

Strengths

  • Separate read-only scopes for form structure (forms.body.readonly) and responses (forms.responses.readonly), plus the per-file drive.file scope
  • forms.batchUpdate applies every request or none, and writeControl.requiredRevisionId rejects a write made against a stale revision
  • Public discovery document for v1 (revision 20261004, 10 methods, 64 schemas) and Markdown copies of doc pages at .md.txt URLs

Weaknesses

  • Push notifications go only to a Cloud Pub/Sub topic in the caller's project, which needs Cloud billing, and they carry no form or response data
  • A watch expires after seven days unless renewed, with at most 20 watches per form and event type for each project
  • No method lists forms or deletes one, the API can't create file upload questions, and it can't submit a response

#2

Tally

C 60.6/100

Tally is a form and survey builder from Tally BV in Ghent, Belgium. Agents create forms, read submissions and manage webhooks through a REST API at api.tally.so, or through a hosted MCP server that is in beta.

Verdict The REST API is free on every plan, with a public OpenAPI 3.0 spec, llms.txt, date-based versions and typed block schemas for building forms. API keys carry all of their user's access with no scopes, error bodies and 429 handling are undocumented, and no security.txt, certification or bug bounty was found.

Choose it for An agent that builds a form from a description, publishes it and reads the answers for an owner on a small budget, since the whole API is free.

Strengths

  • Public OpenAPI 3.0.1 spec with 38 operations and 140 schemas, plus llms.txt, llms-full.txt and a Markdown copy of every docs page
  • The API and the MCP server are free on every plan, and the free plan has unlimited forms and submissions under a fair use policy
  • The MCP server at api.tally.so/mcp takes OAuth with PKCE and dynamic client registration, and the vendor says it can't delete forms or submissions

Weaknesses

  • An API key carries all of its user's access. The docs say fine-grained permissions are not available
  • No error body schema, Retry-After header, backoff guidance or idempotency key in the reviewed documentation
  • PATCH /forms/{formId} replaces the whole blocks array, so any block left out of the request is deleted

#3

Typeform

C 58.4/100

Typeform is a hosted builder for conversational forms, surveys and quizzes. Agents reach it through REST APIs for forms, responses and webhooks at api.typeform.com, and through an official hosted MCP server with 67 tools.

Verdict Forms can be built, published and read through REST APIs or an official MCP server with 67 tools, using OAuth scopes or personal tokens limited by scope. No public OpenAPI description was found, the REST limit is two requests a second per account, and status.typeform.com shows three platform outages on 7 August 2026.

Choose it for Teams already on Typeform who want an agent to draft, edit and publish forms and summarise answers.

Strengths

  • Official hosted MCP server at api.typeform.com/mcp with 67 tools, listed in the official MCP registry as com.typeform/typeform since 23 September 2026
  • Personal tokens take chosen scopes and can be regenerated or deleted. GitHub secret scanning disables a leaked token automatically
  • Responses API filters by date, cursor, field, answered field and phrase, with page_size and cursors

Weaknesses

  • No public OpenAPI description was found. The machine-readable contract is a Postman collection
  • Create and Responses APIs allow two requests a second per account, and no 429 handling is documented for them
  • Three platform outages on 7 August 2026, of 39 minutes, 51 minutes and about 66 minutes to the fix

#4

Formbricks

C 57.7/100

Formbricks is an open-source survey and experience management platform from Formbricks GmbH in Kiel, Germany. Agents create surveys, read responses and manage webhooks through a REST Management API or a hosted MCP server, on Formbricks Cloud or a self-hosted instance.

Verdict API keys are limited to named workspaces with read, write or manage levels, and three OpenAPI specs cover the API. The survey endpoints sit in v1, while v2 is beta and v3 is private beta, and the status page the vendor links returned a Cloudflare 526 error on 8 October 2026.

Choose it for Teams that want survey data in the EU or on their own servers, with an agent creating link, website and in-app surveys and reading responses under a workspace-limited key.

Strengths

  • API keys reach only the workspaces added to them, each at read, write or manage level, and delete calls need manage.
  • OpenAPI specs are published for v1 (32 operations), v2 (40) and v3 (48), with llms.txt and a Markdown copy of each docs page.
  • The MCP server at /api/mcp uses OAuth 2.1 with PKCE, dynamic client registration, per-resource read and write scopes and 15-minute access tokens.

Weaknesses

  • status.formbricks.com, linked from the security page, returned a Cloudflare 526 error on three requests on 8 October 2026, so no incident history could be read.
  • Survey endpoints exist only in v1 and in v3, which is private beta. The v2 API is labelled beta and has no survey endpoints.
  • No Retry-After header, backoff guidance or idempotency key was found for the v1 and v2 APIs.

#5

Paperform

C 56/100

Paperform is a form builder from Paperform Pty Ltd in Sydney, with e-signatures (Papersign) and workflow automation (Stepper) on the same subscription. Agents read forms and submissions and manage fields, webhooks and coupons through a REST API at api.paperform.co.

Verdict The REST API is documented in OpenAPI 3.0.2 with llms.txt and Markdown pages, typed errors and cursor pagination, and the status page shows no incident since 22 March 2026. It can't create or delete forms, needs a paid plan from $49 a month, and its keys have no documented scopes.

Choose it for An agent that reads submissions from forms a person has already built, keeps field options, products and coupons in step with another system, or sends Papersign documents.

Strengths

  • Every reference page has a Markdown copy with its OpenAPI 3.0.2 definition, indexed by llms.txt. 61 operations are listed, 44 for forms and 17 for Papersign
  • Errors are JSON with error_type, message and a details array of suggested fixes. 429 responses carry Retry-After and X-RateLimit-Reset
  • Lists page by limit (up to 100), skip, after_id and before_id, with date filters and sort order

Weaknesses

  • No endpoint creates or deletes a form. The API reads forms and updates an existing form, its fields and its products
  • The API needs a paid plan. Standard API starts at Pro ($49 a month billed annually), and form updates and webhook endpoints need Business ($124)
  • API keys have no documented scopes, read-only mode or rotation, and no OAuth route was found

#6

SurveyMonkey

C 55.3/100

SurveyMonkey is an online survey and form platform. Agents reach it through the REST API v3 for surveys, collectors, responses, contacts and webhooks, or through the vendor's hosted MCP server for Claude and ChatGPT.

Verdict The hosted MCP server works on any plan with US-stored data, including the free Basic plan, and signs in through OAuth with PKCE and six scopes. Lasting REST access needs the Enterprise API add-on, sold separately, and no OpenAPI spec, API changelog or deprecation policy was found in the reviewed documentation.

Choose it for Teams already on SurveyMonkey who want an assistant to draft surveys, create a web link and summarise results through the MCP server, and Enterprise customers who export responses or receive webhooks through the REST API.

Strengths

  • Hosted MCP server at mcp.surveymonkey.com/mcp with 20 tools, 12 read-only and 8 that write or delete, open to any plan with US-stored data
  • REST API v3 covers surveys, pages, questions, collectors, responses, contacts and webhooks, with 22 OAuth scopes that split read from write
  • Rate limits are published (120 requests a minute for draft and private apps) and every response carries limit, remaining and reset headers

Weaknesses

  • A private app needs a paid plan with direct API access, which the pricing page lists only as a separately purchased Enterprise add-on
  • No OpenAPI spec for API v3 was found. The openapi.json on www.surveymonkey.com describes only the pricing and signup pages
  • No API changelog or deprecation policy was found, and the developer terms allow changes to the API at any time without notice

#7

Jotform

D 52.9/100

Jotform is an online form builder for forms, surveys, payments and e-signatures. Agents reach it through a REST API with 56 documented operations, authenticated by API key, and a hosted MCP server at mcp.jotform.com that uses OAuth.

Verdict The REST API covers forms, questions, submissions, webhooks and reports, with read-only or full-access keys, and the free Starter plan includes 1,000 API calls a day. No OpenAPI spec, llms.txt, API changelog or deprecation policy was found, and the docs list the API key in the query string as the first authentication method.

Choose it for An owner who already keeps forms in Jotform and wants an agent to build forms, read submissions and register webhooks, including EU and HIPAA accounts on their own hosts.

Strengths

  • 56 documented REST operations across forms, questions, submissions, webhooks, reports, folders and labels, with samples in up to ten languages
  • API keys are created as Read Access or Full Access, and the MCP server's OAuth has readOnly and full scopes with PKCE
  • Free Starter plan with 1,000 API calls a day, five forms and 100 submissions a month

Weaknesses

  • No OpenAPI spec or llms.txt was found. The reference is an HTML page built by JavaScript
  • No API changelog or deprecation policy was found. The newest dated change we could see is a 26 February 2026 commit to the MCP repository
  • The docs give ?apiKey= in the URL as the first authentication method

#8

Fillout

D 52.2/100

Fillout is a form, survey and quiz builder from Restly, Inc., which trades as Zite. Its REST API lists forms, reads, creates and deletes submissions, and registers webhooks, with an organisation API key or an OAuth app.

Verdict Fillout's REST API is on every plan, the free one included, with a public OpenAPI 3.0.1 spec, llms.txt and submission filters by date, status and text. It has eight operations and none creates or edits a form. The organisation has one unscoped API key, and error responses are not documented.

Choose it for An agent that reads form responses, files submissions on a person's behalf or subscribes a webhook to a form someone has already built.

Strengths

  • REST API access is included on the free plan, which allows 1,000 responses a month with unlimited forms and seats
  • Public OpenAPI 3.0.1 spec at fillout.com/help/openapi.json, plus llms.txt and a Markdown copy of every help page
  • Submissions can be filtered by date range, status and search text, sorted, and paged with limit (1 to 150) and offset

Weaknesses

  • No operation creates or edits a form. Zite's MCP server lists forms and its docs say creating forms is not supported over MCP
  • One API key per organisation with no scopes or read-only mode. Regenerating it stops the old key immediately
  • The spec documents only 200 responses. A request with no key returned 400, not 401, when we tried it

#9

Formstack

D 49/100

Formstack is a hosted form builder with document generation and e-signature products, sold by Intellistack, LLC. Agents reach Formstack Forms through the v2025 REST API, which has 90 operations and takes a Personal Access Token as a Bearer header.

Verdict A public OpenAPI 3.0 spec covers 90 operations on forms, fields, submissions and webhooks, with llms.txt and Markdown reference pages. API access is a paid add-on with no public price, the v2025 docs give no numeric rate limit, and section 3.2(k) of the Software Services Agreement prohibits access by automated means, naming agents and scripts.

Choose it for An organisation that already runs Formstack Forms, has bought the API add-on and wants an agent to build forms, read or search submissions and manage signed webhooks, including HIPAA and PCI use.

Strengths

  • Public OpenAPI 3.0 spec at developers.formstack.com/openapi/api2025-openapi.yaml with 90 operations, 224 schemas and 72 enums
  • llms.txt indexes every reference page, and each page is served as Markdown with its OpenAPI fragment
  • Webhooks are managed per form through the API, with an HMAC secret, a custom signature header and failure emails

Weaknesses

  • Section 3.2(k) of the Software Services Agreement (version 13.1) prohibits using automated means, including generative AI, agents and scripts, to access or manage the service
  • API access is an add-on. The pricing page lists it only under Enterprise at custom pricing, with no public price
  • The v2025 docs say the daily rate limit varies by plan and give no number. Only the older v2 docs state 14,400 calls a day

#10

Wufoo

D 48.5/100

Wufoo is an online form builder owned by SurveyMonkey. Its REST API v3 reads forms, fields, entries, reports and users, submits entries and adds or removes webhooks, with an API key sent over Basic authentication.

Verdict The API reads forms, fields and entries with filtering, sorting and paging, and submits entries on every plan, including Free at 100 requests a day. It cannot create or edit forms, each key carries all of one user's permissions, and no OpenAPI spec, API changelog or deprecation policy was found in the reviewed documentation.

Choose it for An owner who already keeps forms in Wufoo and wants an agent to read and filter entries, submit entries or register a webhook.

Strengths

  • Entries can be filtered with 12 operators, grouped by AND or OR, sorted by field and paged with pageStart and pageSize, with a matching count call
  • Every plan includes the API, from 100 requests a day on Free to 100,000 a day on Ultimate, per the pricing page
  • A failed entry submission returns ErrorText and a FieldErrors list that names each field and its validation message

Weaknesses

  • The API cannot create, edit or delete forms or fields. Forms are built in the browser
  • No OpenAPI spec or llms.txt was found, and the reference is one HTML page with samples written for Python 2
  • Release notes stop at August 2020 and the newest change to the API documentation is dated 26 February 2026
