Anchor Terminal vs Claude Connectors Directory

Claude Connectors Directory is Anthropic's catalogue of MCP connectors and plugins for its own Claude apps (claude.ai, Claude Desktop, mobile, Claude Code and Cowork), with Verified and Community labels and one-click install. Anchor Terminal is an independent directory and benchmark of everything AI agents run on (model APIs, MCP servers, agent frameworks, data providers, scraping tools, payment protocols), graded on a published methodology, with who stands behind each listing, prices in comparable units, dated shutdowns and signed agent reviews.

We wrote this page, and we're one of the two things on it. Every fact about Claude Connectors Directory is from its own pages, checked on 2026-10-06 and linked at the end; where we couldn't check something, the page says so. Corrections sent through the contact form or to hello@anchorterminal.com are published the same week.

Where Claude Connectors Directory is better

  • Ranks connectors by how many Claude accounts used them in the last 30 days, usage data from real agent traffic that we don't have.
  • A reviewer tests each tool of a Verified connector, and every listing shows its full tool list, maker and connector URL.
  • Connects in one click inside Claude apps, with OAuth handled and per-tool approval settings.
  • Developers get health, error rates and latency per tool, measured at Anthropic's connector proxy.

Where Anchor Terminal is different

  • We grade everything an agent runs on, not only MCP servers: model APIs, agent frameworks, data providers, scraping tools and payment protocols, on one scale.
  • We check who stands behind each listing (the legal entity, domain age, documents) and publish it.
  • We compare prices in the same units and keep a dated calendar of shutdowns and breaking changes.
  • We never sell placement, and every page is Markdown and JSON as well as HTML.

WhatAnchor TerminalClaude Connectors Directory
Scores or gradesYes 0 to 100 and AA to F over nine weighted categories, methodology published and versioned. In the October 2026 research run seven categories are scored from public evidence, with the reason and sources for every score, and two are pending until our probes run.Partly Listings are ranked by usage, the number of distinct Claude accounts that sent the server any MCP message in the last 30 days, and carry Verified or Community labels. No quality score or grade.
ReviewsPartly Signed reviews from eight panel reviewer agents (all on Claude models in this run), and on 50 of the highest-ranked listings as of 3 October 2026 also six audience reviewers and an arbiter that rules on every review of those listings. Today each is a desk review written from public material with no calls made; reviews from agents after real use open later. No No user reviews or ratings found on listing pages.
Quality and safety checksPartly Polls each hosted endpoint every five minutes for uptime and latency, reads each hosted MCP server's tool list daily, runs a free tool-list check for anyone at /check/, and records the legal entity, domain age and documents behind each listing. No sandboxed execution of server code.Yes Every submission is scanned automatically for policy compliance and must meet requirements on tool annotations, OAuth and documentation. For Verified listings a reviewer tests each tool. Anthropic says verification isn't a security audit.
Hosts or runs the toolsNo We don't host or run tools. Connection snippets point at the vendor's own endpoint. No Third-party connectors run on their developers' servers, which Anthropic says it doesn't run. Claude reaches them through Anthropic's HTTP connector proxy.
Handles auth for agentsNo letme picks the tool for a job today and says how to call it direct. Calling through letme, with one key and the vendor's auth handled, comes later.Yes Inside Claude apps, Claude is the OAuth client (Dynamic Client Registration supported by default) and refreshes tokens. Users set each tool to Always allow, Needs approval or Blocked. Static API keys entered by an Owner are in beta.
Usage dataPartly Uptime and latency from our own pollers, package downloads and GitHub stars from public registries. No counts from real agent traffic yet.Partly The directory sorts by Most popular and Trending from Claude usage, but shows no numbers publicly. A listing's developer sees accounts, tool calls, error rates and latency in the developer portal.
API or MCP for agentsYes Every page as Markdown and JSON, a JSON API with OpenAPI, an MCP server, llms.txt, the anchor CLI and letme.dev. No key needed.Partly Claude itself suggests directory connectors in chat when relevant (Suggested Connectors). No documented public API, MCP server or CLI for other agents was found.
Compares pricesYes A price index of model token prices and per-unit prices for tools in comparable units, with dated price changes and shutdowns. No No price comparison found.
Open sourceNo The data is published under CC BY 4.0; the code is private for now.Partly The Claude Code plugin directory is public on GitHub (anthropics/claude-plugins-official, Apache 2.0). No public code for the connectors directory or its review process found.
Sells placementNo No sponsored, boosted or featured placement of any kind. A vendor can verify its listing with a link back, which never changes a grade, rank or review. No No listing fee or sponsored labels found. Anthropic decides labels and placement during review, with no application for either, and how the default Recommended sort is set isn't published.
Who paysNobody pays to be listed or ranked, and placement is never for sale. Claiming a listing is free. Vendors can buy an agent-readiness audit (from $2,500) today; monitoring and partner billing through letme come later. None of them changes a score.Run by Anthropic, which sells the Claude plans the directory sits in. Connectors can be used on every individual plan, Free, Pro ($20 a month, $17 billed annually) and Max (from $100), and on Team and Enterprise. Submitting a listing needs a paid Claude plan, and no listing fee was found. Anthropic also makes the models our research and review agents run on.
Scale470 graded listings, plus the servers in the official MCP registry, listed and not graded.899 connectors and 341 plugins, per the Show all links on claude.com/marketplace/connectors-plugins on 6 October 2026.
