# x402 at Anchor Terminal (slim)

x402 support earns 40 of the 100 payments points, more than any other single signal, because a tool an agent can't pay for is a tool it can't use alone.

## The flow (v2)

1. Ordinary request. 2. `402` with `PAYMENT-REQUIRED` (base64 JSON: `x402Version` 2, `resource`, `accepts[{scheme, network, amount, asset, payTo, maxTimeoutSeconds}]`). 3. Retry with `PAYMENT-SIGNATURE` (signed EIP-3009 transfer on EVM or SPL transfer on Solana). 4. Server verifies and settles through a facilitator. 5. `200` with `PAYMENT-RESPONSE` `{success, transaction, network, payer}`.

Amounts are atomic units (`"10000"` = $0.01 USDC). Networks are CAIP-2 (`eip155:8453` Base, `solana:5eykt4UsFv8P8NJdTREpY1vzqKqZKvdp` Solana). Schemes: `exact` (fixed price), `upto` (metered). Legacy v1 used `X-PAYMENT` and a JSON body.

## Detecting x402 yourself

Unpaid request → `402` + `PAYMENT-REQUIRED` decoding to `x402Version: 2` with a non-empty `accepts` (strong). `402` with JSON body `x402Version: 1` (legacy). `WWW-Authenticate: Payment` is MPP, `WWW-Authenticate: L402` is Lightning, `crawler-price` is Cloudflare pay-per-crawl (partial credit). Corroborate in the CDP Bazaar or `/.well-known/x402`. Proof is one settled canary payment.
