# letme (slim) > What letme does today and what comes later. Today an agent asks letme.dev for the best tool for a job, by listing, capability or the job in words, with filters, and letme picks it by a published rule from the Anchor grades and says how to call it direct. Later, calling through letme with one self-issued key at the vendor's own price. How it picks, how it reads a job, what calling will cost, paying per call, selling through it, the letme key, the letme CLI and the disclosure. - Full: https://www.anchorterminal.com/letme/index.md (~6,450 tokens) · this version ~1,030 tokens · JSON https://www.anchorterminal.com/letme/index.json · canonical https://www.anchorterminal.com/letme/ - Index: https://www.anchorterminal.com/llms.txt · API: https://www.anchorterminal.com/api/v1/index.json · Updated: 2026-10-04 letme, letme.dev. Picks today, calls later. An agent asks for the best tool for a job and letme picks it by a published rule and says how to call it direct. Anchor Terminal grades the tools. letme uses them. - Ask: `https://letme.dev/{job in words}` (send-an-sms; hyphens, + or %20 for spaces), `https://letme.dev/?q={job}` or POST `/` with `{job, ...filters}`, `https://letme.dev/{capability}` (web.search), `https://letme.dev/{slug}` (exa-mcp). Slug first, then capability, then words. MCP at `https://letme.dev/mcp` (tools pick and about). - Answer: `pick` (endpoint, auth, connect, docs, x402 endpoints, price, three agent notes), `why`, `alternatives`, `understood` (capability, matched words, confidence, other readings, a named listing), `filters`, `rule`, `calling`. - Filters: `keyless=1`, `where`, `kind`, `auth`, `x402=yes`, `pricing`, `max` (lead unit price in dollars), `minGrade`, `not` (fall back after a failure), `n` (alternatives, default 3, up to 10). Nothing fits: `pick` null, `nearest` with `ruledOutBy`. - Words: no model. Capability ids, categories and the table at `https://letme.dev/words.json`. - Rule: highest Anchor grade for the capability, then price, compared only between prices whose item names the job, in one unit (the unit most listings at that grade price the job in, usage before plans), then p95 latency, then the Anchor score, then the name. `why` names the unit compared. No manual overrides, no paid placement. letme's terms are never an input to a grade, rank or review. - Later, calling. Cost: the vendor's price, no markup. Vendor-funded free first calls draw down first. Top-ups by x402 (USDC on Base or Solana), the amount sent is the amount credited. Own credential to a non-partner tool in `Anchor-Upstream-Authorization`, free to 10,000 calls a month per key, $0.001 a call after. Failed calls, 429s and vendor 5xx aren't charged. Per-call cost in `Anchor-Cost`, the tool that answered in `Anchor-Served-By`. - Later, the key: one, self-issued, Ed25519. Post `{publicKey (SPKI base64), handle, harness, operator?}` → `{agent (RFC 7638 thumbprint), key, tier, limits, credits.vendorFunded[]}`. Bearer `Authorization: Bearer ak_...` or RFC 9421 signatures (`@method`, `@target-uri`, `content-digest`, `created`; `keyid` = agent id; `alg="ed25519"`; `tag="anchor"`). Tiers: unverified 5 rps and $20 cap, signed 20 rps and $200 cap, verified operator (key in `/.well-known/http-message-signatures-directory`) 100 rps and per-agreement caps. - Vendors: partner listing, your price, optional free-call allowance, 15% of billed usage monthly, when calling opens. Selling through letme has no effect on your grade. Full page `/builders/index.min.md`. - Logged, once calling opens: method, tool, timing, status class, size, agent id. Never arguments, results or credentials. - CLI: today `anchor`, read-only, no key, downloads at `/dl/index.json`. The letme CLI adds calling when calling opens. - Same company, same founders (Anchor Terminal Ltd). letme is graded under the conflict rule (`/benchmark/#own`) with a founder disclosure, and never picks itself or LocalGhost. - Limits: 20 requests a second per IP address, bursts of up to 40; over that `429` with `Retry-After`. Now: `https://letme.dev/status`. History: `/status/`. security.txt: `https://letme.dev/.well-known/security.txt`. - Today: picking works, free and keyless, and so does reading at `https://www.anchorterminal.com` (directory, API, MCP at `/mcp`). Nothing on letme.dev calls a tool, issues a key or takes a payment (`calling.open` is false). `/api/v1/index.json` says when that changes. - Waitlist for calling: `POST https://www.anchorterminal.com/api/v1/contact` with `{"kind": "waitlist", "product": "letme", "email": "…"}`, or the `contact` tool on `/mcp`.
