"markdown": "# Fix list: Clairic\n\nFrom Anchor Terminal's listing at https://www.anchorterminal.com/tools/cloudflare-clairic, the October 2026 research run, assessed 20 October 2026. Grade B, 66.3 out of 100.\n\nThis is everything the published grade says the listing lacks, the biggest possible gain to the total first. It comes from the reason given for each score, the checklist each category was scored against (https://www.anchorterminal.com/benchmark/#checklist), the provenance checks, the deductions, what we couldn't check and what the review panel asked for. A fix counts at the next check, once it's public.\n\nFor a coding agent working on Clairic: work through the items below in the product, its docs and its public pages. Each category gives the reason for its score, with the points each checklist item earned, and the checklist itself, so the gap is the items that earned less than their points. Change the product, not the wording, and keep a note of what you changed and where it's published.\n\n## 1. Reliability, 51 out of 100, up to 9.8 more on the total\n\nWhy it scored 51: Scored as a hosted model on Workers AI, as Clef is. www.cloudflarestatus.com is a Statuspage with Workers AI as its own component (20). The incidents feed read on 20 October 2026 covers 5 to 19 October. It has one Workers AI incident, minor, on 15 October 2026 from 07:10 to 09:37 UTC, errors on five DeepSeek and GLM models, four days before Clairic launched. The history page loads by script, so the rest of the 90 days went unread, and Clairic is a day old (8 of 30, read as Clef's was at launch). The model page puts Clairic under Text Generation, whose default limit is 300 requests a minute, though the limits page doesn't name it (13 of 15). The errors page gives 429 two internal codes, 3036 for a spent free allocation and 3040 for capacity, per the Workers AI listing's check of 9 October. No `Retry-After` was found. A call has no side effects, so a retry is safe (10 of 15). No SLA for Workers AI found (0). Clairic is a preview, as its model page, catalogue entry, changelog entry and launch post all say (0 of 10). Total 51.\n\nThe checklist (https://www.anchorterminal.com/benchmark/#checklist-reliability):\n\nHosted APIs, MCP servers, models and platforms.\n\n- 20, a public status page with component history (Statuspage, Instatus, BetterStack or the vendor's own).\n- 0 to 30, the incident record for the last 90 days on that page. 30 for a clean record or trivial incidents only, 20 for minor incidents only, 10 for one major outage (an hour or more of a core API down, or errors across the board), 0 for several. 5 when there's no history we could read, and the note says so.\n- 15, rate limits documented with numbers.\n- 15, documented 429 or overload handling (Retry-After, backoff guidance), and idempotency keys or safe-retry guidance where writes are involved.\n- 10, an SLA published for any paid tier.\n- 10, the surface agents use is generally available, not beta or preview.\n\nLocal packages, SDKs, frameworks and stdio MCP servers.\n\n- 20, installs from an official package with supported runtimes stated.\n- 25, a public CI and test suite, passing on the default branch.\n- 0 to 25, open crash or regression issues relative to activity (25 for few and handled, 0 for many, old and unanswered).\n- 15, semver discipline and breaking changes called out in a changelog.\n- 15, version 1.0 or later, or declared stable.\n\nProtocols are read from their reference implementations, the public facilitators or servers, spec stability and test vectors.\n\n## 2. Payments \u0026 pricing, 40 out of 100, up to 7.5 more on the total\n\nWhy it scored 40: No x402, MPP or L402 for Clairic. Machine Payments on `POST /ai/run` lists four other models, read on 20 October 2026 (0). $0.10 per million input tokens (9,091 neurons) on the pricing page, last updated 19 October 2026, and on the model page, with no output charge (20). Workers AI includes 10,000 neurons a day on the Free plan, about 1.1 million Clairic input tokens, and Cloudflare's Free plan needs no card per the 30 September check (20). The hosted route needs a person to sign up in a browser, and there are no weights to run yourself yet (0). Total 40.\n\nThe checklist (https://www.anchorterminal.com/benchmark/#checklist-payments):\n\nThe published rubric, also on the [x402 page](https://www.anchorterminal.com/x402/).\n\n- 40, a machine payment protocol (x402, MPP or L402) on the tool's own endpoints. 10 to 30 when it covers only some endpoints or only goes through a third party, and the note says which.\n- 20, per-call or per-unit pricing published without a login. 10 for public plan-only pricing, 0 for \"contact sales\" or prices behind a login.\n- 20, a free tier or trial that doesn't need a card.\n- 20, autonomous onboarding, meaning an agent can get access without a person signing up in a browser (keyless use, x402, a programmatic key API).\n\nPayment platforms and agent wallets rarely charge for their own API over a machine protocol, so the first line has steps for them, and the highest one that applies counts. 40 when x402, MPP or L402 runs on all their own endpoints, 30 when it runs on part of their own API, 25 when their merchants can accept one, 20 for running a facilitator, 15 for paying as a buyer, and 0 when the only protocol is their own. Merchant acceptance sits above a facilitator because the platform's own customers can charge agents through it, while a facilitator settles for sellers who wire up the protocol themselves. The counter-argument (a facilitator does more for the protocol as a whole) has a point. Each note says which step applied.\n\nOpen-source software you run yourself is scored on its hosted or paid option if it has one. A free, self-hosted package with nothing to buy gets 20, 20 and 20 for the last three lines, and 0 to 40 for the first only if it ships a payment protocol.\n\n## 3. Security \u0026 auth, 72 out of 100, up to 4.9 more on the total\n\nWhy it scored 72: Read for a model API. Cloudflare API tokens limited to Workers AI permissions on one account, revocable, with optional expiry and IP address filtering, per the Workers AI listing's check of 9 October. Permission is per account, not per model (27 of 30). The Workers AI data usage page, updated 16 October 2026, says standard inference keeps no inputs or outputs after the response and Customer Content isn't used to train models. The Clairic post and model page add nothing on data (18 of 20, as Clef). Clairic reads untrusted text and images such as customer emails and receipts, and returns spans copied from them. The extraction models page says to match safeguards to risk and to check results or require human review before consequential or irreversible actions, and the post says handing a decision model typed values in place of a raw email narrows its injection exposure. No guidance on adversarial or injected input to Clairic itself was found (6 of 15). Per-request logs come through AI Gateway when it's used, and account audit logs record token changes, per the Cloudflare MCP listing's check (6 of 15). security.txt, read on 20 October 2026, points to a HackerOne programme and a disclosure policy. Certifications weren't checked this run (15 of 20). Total 72.\n\nThe checklist (https://www.anchorterminal.com/benchmark/#checklist-security):\n\n- 0 to 30, the credential model. 30 for OAuth 2.1 with scopes, or scoped and revocable keys with rotation. 20 for plain revocable API keys. 10 for one all-powerful key. 10 off when a secret can travel in a URL query string as a documented option.\n- 0 to 20, read-only or least-privilege modes, and confirmation or approval for destructive actions.\n- 0 to 15, prompt-injection posture where the tool returns untrusted content (documented mitigations or guidance). A tool that returns no untrusted content gets 10.\n- 0 to 15, audit logs or per-call visibility for the operator.\n- 0 to 20, a security programme. security.txt or a disclosure policy, a bug bounty, SOC 2 or ISO 27001, advisories handled in public.\n\nModels are read for retention, whether API data trains models (and whether that's off by default), zero-retention options and certifications. Frameworks for telemetry defaults, approval hooks, guardrails and sandboxing.\n\n## 4. Maintenance \u0026 community, 57 out of 100, up to 3.8 more on the total\n\nWhy it scored 57: Read for a model. Released on 19 October 2026 (30). For churn and notice, Cloudflare calls the endpoint an early checkpoint and says it will keep improving it with each checkpoint, under an unversioned ID, so the model can change under a caller with no stated notice (2 of 8). We found no stated minimum notice for Workers AI model changes, and the model page's terms let Cloudflare stop providing Clairic. The changelog gave 22 days' notice for the 30 May 2026 retirements and none for the 28 July paid-only change (4 of 12). A dated changelog entry on launch day. Cloudflare's community and support channels weren't checked (9 of 15). Cloudflare's SDKs are current, TypeScript 7.3.0 and Python 5.9.0 tagged 2 October 2026 and Go v7.12.0, per the Workers AI listing's check of 9 October, with nothing specific to Clairic (10 of 15). No weights, code or package published to check (2 of 10). Total 57.\n\nThe checklist (https://www.anchorterminal.com/benchmark/#checklist-maintenance):\n\n- 0 to 30, time since the last release, or the last published model or API change for a closed service. 30 within 30 days, 20 within 90, 10 within 180, 0 older.\n- 20, at least three releases or dated changelog entries in the last 90 days.\n- 0 to 25, responsiveness. Issues and pull requests answered on GitHub (the open issues and how recent the replies are). For closed services, a public changelog and a support or community channel that answers, 0 to 15.\n- 15, presence in the official MCP registry under a verified namespace (MCP servers), or current official SDKs (APIs and models).\n- 10, package health, current dependencies and CI.\n\nModels are read for deprecation notice periods and model churn rather than release counts.\n\n## 5. Agent ergonomics, 78 out of 100, up to 3.6 more on the total\n\nWhy it scored 78: Read as an API an agent calls for typed values, the way Clef is read for decisions. Answers are one typed value per field, so output stays small, and the 99 percentiles and the state text come back only on request. Fields that don't fit beside the state in one 8,192-token pass are split into parallel passes. The model page's example reports 3 passes and 655 input tokens for a 61-token state and 472 schema tokens, which matches the state being counted once a pass (61 x 3 + 472). No batch or caching found for Clairic (20 of 25). The caller fixes the output shape, with any number of fields, bounds and a grid for estimates and a 1 to 64 step horizon for forecasts (18 of 20). Workers AI errors carry internal codes and messages, and the response's `truncated` flag says when the state was cut. Nothing Clairic-specific, such as which field spec failed validation, is documented (14 of 20). Calls are stateless and safe to retry, with no retry guidance beyond the error table (15 of 20). Only `model` and `fields` are required, with defaults for `scale` and `null_threshold`. The body repeats the model the URL names, and there's no Clairic SDK. Cloudflare's TypeScript, Python and Go SDKs call the run endpoint for any model, per the Workers AI listing's check of 9 October (11 of 15). Total 78.\n\nThe checklist (https://www.anchorterminal.com/benchmark/#checklist-ergonomics):\n\n- 0 to 25, context cost. For MCP, the number and size of the tool definitions (25 for ten or fewer compact tools, 15 for 11 to 30, 5 for more than 30, plus up to 10 back for toolsets, dynamic loading or read-only subsets). For APIs, whether responses can be sized (field selection, limits, summaries).\n- 20, pagination, filtering and output-size controls.\n- 20, actionable, documented error responses, codes and messages an agent can recover from.\n- 20, idempotency or safe retries, and for MCP the `readOnlyHint` and `destructiveHint` annotations.\n- 15, sensible defaults, few required parameters, and official SDKs in at least two languages.\n\nModels are read for tool use, structured output, prompt caching, context length, batch and SDKs. Frameworks for how much code and how many defaults a tool-calling agent with MCP needs.\n\n## 6. Schema \u0026 documentation, 85 out of 100, up to 2.4 more on the total\n\nWhy it scored 85: The model page publishes input and output JSON Schemas, also as raw files, with a `type` enum of nine field kinds, enums for list items, scale and forecast interval, and bounds on decimals, horizon and `null_threshold`. `min`, `max`, `step` and every answer's `value` carry no type, and Cloudflare's OpenAPI has only the generic `/ai/run/{model_name}` path (21 of 25, one below Clef for the untyped bounds and values). Workers AI's llms.txt lists Clairic, and the model page has a Markdown copy (10). The extraction models page says when to use an extraction model, a decision model or a generative model, with invoice examples, and has a limitations section. The changelog entry and the post add when not to rely on it, for multi-step arithmetic, aggregation across table rows and long-horizon forecasts (18 of 20). Field specs require `type`, list fields require `items`, and field names have a pattern. The state is free-form by design (13 of 15). Examples in JavaScript, Python and curl with a full response, and the Workers AI error table, with nothing specific to Clairic such as an invalid field spec (13 of 15). A dated changelog entry on 19 October 2026, but the model ID carries no version and Cloudflare calls the endpoint an early checkpoint it expects to improve (10 of 15). Total 85.\n\nThe checklist (https://www.anchorterminal.com/benchmark/#checklist-schema):\n\nAPIs and MCP servers.\n\n- 25, a machine-readable contract (a public OpenAPI file or similar; for MCP, typed JSON Schema inputs on every tool).\n- 10, llms.txt or Markdown docs served for agents.\n- 0 to 20, descriptions that say what a tool is for, when to use it and when not to, read from the tool definitions in the source or the API reference.\n- 0 to 15, typed inputs with enums, constraints and required fields, and no free-form JSON blobs.\n- 0 to 15, examples and documented error responses.\n- 15, versioning and a public changelog.\n\nModels are read from the API reference, the OpenAPI file, llms.txt, the structured-output and tool-use docs and the model cards. Frameworks from docs a model can follow, typed interfaces, examples and the API reference.\n\n## 7. Transparency \u0026 trust, 80 out of 100, up to 1.8 more on the total\n\nMade of editorial 65, provenance 95.\n\nWhy it scored 80: Closed for now. Cloudflare intends to release open weights soon, with no date or licence named, and no Clairic repository was public on Hugging Face on 20 October 2026. The terms are Cloudflare's Self-Serve Subscription Agreement plus the model page's own terms, which supply Clairic as is (15 of 30, closed with clear terms). The data usage page (16 October 2026) says no training and no retention for standard inference, and Cloudflare's privacy policy and DPA exist, per the Cloudflare MCP check (26 of 30). Dated notices on the Workers AI changelog but no deprecation policy, and the model terms say Cloudflare may stop providing it with no refund or credit (10 of 20). Cloudflare's subprocessor page names third parties and group companies with locations, per the Cloudflare MCP check of 1 October. Where Clairic inference runs isn't stated (14 of 20). Total 65.\n\nThe checklist (https://www.anchorterminal.com/benchmark/#checklist-transparency):\n\n- 0 to 30, source availability and licence clarity. 30 for open source under an OSI licence, 15 for closed with clear terms, 0 for unclear terms.\n- 0 to 30, data handling and retention statements that agree with each other (privacy policy, DPA, retention periods, subprocessors).\n- 0 to 20, a deprecation policy or notices with dates.\n- 0 to 20, telemetry disclosed with an opt-out (local software), or subprocessors and data locations disclosed (hosted).\n\nThe other half of Transparency and trust is the provenance score, computed from checked facts (below). The category score is the mean of the two.\n\nProvenance checks not met in full (half of this category, computed from checked facts):\n\n- Terms of service: read, states 7 of the 7 things a reader expects, and has 2 clauses that cost points (6 of 10)\n- Privacy policy: read, states 7 of the 8 things a reader expects (9.3 of 10)\n\n## What we couldn't check\n\nWhat we couldn't read counted as absent. Publishing it on a page a plain HTTP fetch can read (not only in a browser) lets the next check count it.\n\n- unchecked: Workers AI incident history before 5 October 2026, since the history page is paginated by script and the feed starts there\n- Whether the state is billed once per pass. The model page's example (655 input tokens for a 61-token state, 472 schema tokens and 3 passes) matches that, but no page says so\n- When the open weights will be published and under which licence. The post says soon and names neither\n- Whether Cloudflare will give notice before replacing the early checkpoint behind `@cf/cloudflare/clairic`\n- Whether Clairic has its own rate limit, or shares the Text Generation default of 300 requests a minute\n- What `truncated` means in practice. The response schema has the flag, and no page says when the state is cut\n- Cloudflare's forecast, latency and cost figures are its own, mostly for a pipeline with Clef and GLM-5.3, and we didn't reproduce them. The post names no versions for the Gemma 4 and Qwen models it says failed the task\n- Where Clairic inference runs, and the parameter count and base model, aren't stated\n\n## Weaknesses\n\n- Preview only. Cloudflare calls the endpoint an early checkpoint and expects to replace it under the unversioned ID `@cf/cloudflare/clairic`\n- Open weights are promised soon with no date or licence named, and no Clairic repository was public on Hugging Face on 20 October 2026\n- The model page's terms supply Clairic as is and let Cloudflare stop providing it with no refund, credit or other compensation\n- No SLA found for Workers AI, and Clairic shares the Text Generation default of 300 requests a minute\n- Cloudflare's own preview notes say multi-step arithmetic and aggregation across table rows aren't reliable yet and forecasting is basic\n- No x402 or keyless route. Machine Payments covers four other Workers AI models\n\n## What costs an agent a turn today\n\nThe notes we give agents before they call it. Each one is a workaround an agent shouldn't need.\n\n- Send `model` as `clairic` in the body as well as in the URL. The input schema requires `model` and `fields`\n- Set `reference_date`, or add a line giving today's date to the state, for any field that depends on the current date\n- Treat a null `value` as not found, and read `p_null`, `confidence` or the 80% interval before acting. Typed output is well formed, not necessarily correct\n- Extract the inputs and do multi-step sums and table totals in code. Cloudflare says long arithmetic chains aren't reliable yet\n- Embed images as data URLs or base64 objects, at most four, 4 MiB each and 8 MiB in all. Remote image URLs are refused\n- Read the internal code on a 429. 3036 means the day's 10,000 free neurons are spent, 3040 means capacity, so retry later\n\n## What the review panel asked for\n\n- versioned checkpoint IDs\n- dated notice before replacement\n- State how passes are billed\n- Add Clairic to Machine Payments\n- type the value and bounds fields\n- document Clairic validation errors\n- Guidance on adversarial input\n- Per-model token permissions\n\n## When it's done\n\nSend what changed and where it's published as a dispute (https://www.anchorterminal.com/builders/#disputes, or `POST https://www.anchorterminal.com/api/v1/contact` with `\"kind\": \"dispute\"`). Disputes are answered in public, and the listing is checked again by the same checklist. Paying for an audit or a listing claim changes nothing here.\n",

Total 78.",
