Ahead on: - Reliability, 80 against 48 - Schema & documentation, 78 against 64 - Agent ergonomics, 75 against 67 - Security & auth, 69 against 56 - Maintenance & community, 84 against 76 Also in its favour: - Free to start without a card Watch for: Session token URLs (`https://api.stackone.com/mcp?token=...`) put the credential in the query string, cover one linked account and expire after one year by default ### Zapier MCP (agent actions) (C) Good for: Best when an agent needs one-off actions across many SaaS apps that a person has already connected in Zapier. Watch for: Connection tokens are long-lived and the docs allow them in the URL query string ## Score by category | Category | Weight | StackOne | Zapier MCP (agent actions) | Edge | | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Reliability | 16% (20 this run) | 80 | 48 | StackOne +32 | | Performance | 10%, pending | pending | pending | not scored in this run | | Schema & documentation | 13% (16.2 this run) | 78 | 64 | StackOne +14 | | Agent ergonomics | 13% (16.2 this run) | 75 | 67 | StackOne +8 | | Security & auth | 14% (17.5 this run) | 69 | 56 | StackOne +13 | | Payments & pricing | 10% (12.5 this run) | 38 | 35 | StackOne +3 | | Task success | 10%, pending | pending | pending | not scored in this run | | Maintenance & community | 7% (8.8 this run) | 84 | 76 | StackOne +8 | | Transparency & trust | 7% (8.8 this run) | 69 | 73 | Zapier MCP (agent actions) +4 | | Negative events | ≤15 | -2 | 0 | | | **Total** | | **69.1 · B** | **58.1 · C** | | ## Facts side by side | Fact | StackOne | Zapier MCP (agent actions) | | --- | --- | --- | | Kind | MCP server | MCP server | | Vendor | StackOne Technologies Limited | Zapier | | Hosted endpoint | `https://mcp.stackone.com/mcp` | `https://mcp.zapier.com/api/v1/connect` | | Transports | Streamable HTTP, HTTP | Streamable HTTP | | Auth | OAuth or key | OAuth or key | | Pricing | Freemium | Your plan | | x402 | no | no | | Licence | Proprietary service under StackOne's SaaS Terms and Conditions. Session token URLs carry the credential in the query string for a year by default, and the Consumption Schedule and pricing page disagree on whether failed calls are billed. **Zapier MCP (agent actions).** 16 meta-tools in agentic mode, or managed mode with only the actions you pick. Connection tokens are long-lived and the docs allow them in the URL query string. ## Before you call either ### StackOne 1. Send `Accept: application/json,text/event-stream` on every MCP request to `https://api.stackone.com/mcp`, by POST only. Without it the server answers 406 2. In `search_execute` mode call `{provider}_search_actions` first and pass the returned `action_id` to `{provider}_execute_action`. Never hardcode action ids 3. Pass the API key as the Basic auth username with an empty password, and name the linked account in `x-account-id` 4. On 429 or 408 wait the seconds given in `Retry-After`. StackOne has already retried a provider's 429 up to five times within a 60-second request lifetime 5. On 412 read `errorCode` and `details.statusReasons`. `AccountErrorStatus` needs a person to re-authenticate the linked account ### Zapier MCP (agent actions) 1. Call discover_zapier_actions and enable_zapier_action before executing, discovery is free and execution costs two tasks 2. Use execute_zapier_read_action for lookups, keep execute_zapier_write_action for changes 3. Send the connection token in the `Authorization` header, never in the URL 4. Count batch writes per item before starting, five rows is ten tasks ## Questions ### Which is better for AI agents, StackOne or Zapier MCP (agent actions)?
