Ahead on: - Reliability, 87 against 62 - Payments & pricing, 60 against 25 Also in its favour: - No key needed to call it - Open source Watch for: robocorp.com redirects to sema4.ai, which answered our reader with a bot check, so the docs, Control Room pricing and terms were not read ### UiPath (B) Good for: An agent that needs to drive Windows desktop or legacy applications through robots a company already runs, started as MCP tools or API jobs. Ahead on: - Schema & documentation, 79 against 65 - Agent ergonomics, 73 against 59 - Security & auth, 82 against 44 - Transparency & trust, 76 against 65 Also in its favour: - A hosted endpoint, with nothing to install Watch for: Standard and Enterprise prices are not published, and robot licences are sold through sales ## Score by category | Category | Weight | Robocorp | UiPath | Edge | | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Reliability | 16% (20 this run) | 87 | 62 | Robocorp +25 | | Performance | 10%, pending | pending | pending | not scored in this run | | Schema & documentation | 13% (16.2 this run) | 65 | 79 | UiPath +14 | | Agent ergonomics | 13% (16.2 this run) | 59 | 73 | UiPath +14 | | Security & auth | 14% (17.5 this run) | 44 | 82 | UiPath +38 | | Payments & pricing | 10% (12.5 this run) | 60 | 25 | Robocorp +35 | | Task success | 10%, pending | pending | pending | not scored in this run | | Maintenance & community | 7% (8.8 this run) | 81 | 80 | Robocorp +1 | | Transparency & trust | 7% (8.8 this run) | 65 | 76 | UiPath +11 | | Negative events | ≤15 | 0 | 0 | | | **Total** | | **65.5 · B** | **68.2 · B** | | ## Facts side by side | Fact | Robocorp | UiPath | | --- | --- | --- | | Kind | SDK + MCP | HTTP API | | Vendor | Sema4.ai | UiPath | | Hosted endpoint | no (local only) | `https://cloud.uipath.com/{org}/{tenant}/agenthub_/mcp/{folderKey}/{slug}` | | Transports | | HTTP | | Auth | None | OAuth | | Pricing | Free | Freemium | | x402 | no | no | | Licence | Apache-2.0 | Proprietary service under the UiPath Master Software and Services Agreement, the Community Agreement for the free plan | | Read-only variant documented | no | no | | llms.txt | no | yes | | Last release | 2026-10-04 | 2026-10-12 | | Terms last updated | no document linked | couldn't be read | | Privacy policy last updated | no document linked | no date given | | Customer content may train models | | yes | | Terms restrict automated access | | couldn't be read | | Terms restrict benchmarking | | couldn't be read | | Terms or service can change without notice | | couldn't be read | | Arbitration or class-action waiver | | couldn't be read | | Popularity | 1.6k stars, 61k PyPI/wk | none | ## Verdicts **Robocorp.** Apache-2.0 libraries with passing CI, releases in the last month and an agent skill in the repository make it practical for agent-written desktop automation. robocorp.com now redirects to Sema4.ai, whose docs, pricing, terms and rcc downloads sit behind a bot check, and recent library issues mostly go unanswered. **UiPath.** Orchestrator exposes published RPA workflows, agents and API workflows as MCP tools over Streamable HTTP, with MCP OAuth, scoped PATs and an OpenAPI 3.0 API. Prices above the $25 Basic plan need a sales conversation, and the status page logged several multi-hour incidents between 10 September and 13 October 2026. ## Before you call either ### Robocorp 1. Install libraries with `pip install robocorp` and add `rpaframework` or `robocorp-windows` separately. robocorp-windows is not in the meta-package 2. Use RPA.Windows or robocorp.windows on Windows only. On macOS or Linux use RPA.Desktop, which works by keyboard, mouse and image matching 3. Ask the user for the rcc download link for their platform, because the release notes page blocks automated requests 4. Run a task package with `rcc task run --robot robot.yaml --task "TASK NAME"` and read the final status as well as the log output 5. Keep secrets in robocorp.vault or environment variables and register sensitive names with robocorp.log so they are hidden from logs ### UiPath 1. Send `Authorization: Bearer ` on every MCP request. The `mcp-session-id` header carries no authentication 2. Give a PAT both `OR.Execution` (list tools) and `OR.Jobs` (run tools), or tool listing or calls fail 3. Use client credentials from an external application for unattended runs. It is the only method that needs no person at sign-in 4. Add a folder header such as `X-UIPATH-FolderKey` to Orchestrator API calls on folder resources 5. Read job outputs with `GET /odata/Jobs({key})`. `GET /odata/Jobs` returns InputArguments and OutputArguments as null and is limited to 100 calls a minute per tenant ## Questions ### Which is better for AI agents, Robocorp or UiPath?
