Ahead on: - Payments & pricing, 35 against 30 Also in its favour: - Free to start without a card - No incidents deducted, where Webflow loses 3 points for them Watch for: No OpenAPI file for the Migration, Asset or Types APIs in the reviewed documentation. The Types API links a Postman collection ### Webflow (B) Good for: Teams whose website already runs on Webflow and who want an agent to draft, update and publish CMS items, fix metadata or manage assets. Ahead on: - Schema & documentation, 87 against 60 - Agent ergonomics, 72 against 63 - Security & auth, 74 against 50 - Transparency & trust, 81 against 72 Watch for: The MCP server documents 34 tools (27 data, 3 Designer session, 4 utility), each with several actions, and a granted tool grants all its actions ## Score by category | Category | Weight | Prismic | Webflow | Edge | | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Reliability | 16% (20 this run) | 78 | 79 | Webflow +1 | | Performance | 10%, pending | pending | pending | not scored in this run | | Schema & documentation | 13% (16.2 this run) | 60 | 87 | Webflow +27 | | Agent ergonomics | 13% (16.2 this run) | 63 | 72 | Webflow +9 | | Security & auth | 14% (17.5 this run) | 50 | 74 | Webflow +24 | | Payments & pricing | 10% (12.5 this run) | 35 | 30 | Prismic +5 | | Task success | 10%, pending | pending | pending | not scored in this run | | Maintenance & community | 7% (8.8 this run) | 79 | 80 | Webflow +1 | | Transparency & trust | 7% (8.8 this run) | 72 | 81 | Webflow +9 | | Negative events | ≤15 | 0 | -3 | | | **Total** | | **61.9 · C** | **69.4 · B** | | ## Facts side by side | Fact | Prismic | Webflow | | --- | --- | --- | | Kind | HTTP API | HTTP API | | Vendor | Prismic.io Inc. | Webflow, Inc. | | Hosted endpoint | `https://mcp.prismic.io/mcp` | `https://api.webflow.com/v2` | | Transports | HTTP, Streamable HTTP | HTTP, Streamable HTTP | | Auth | OAuth or key | OAuth or key | | Pricing | Freemium | Freemium | | x402 | no | no | | Licence | Proprietary service under Prismic's Master Services Agreement. Write tokens for the Migration, Asset and Types APIs have no scopes, no OpenAPI file was found, writes are limited to one request a second, and the acceptable use policy forbids access by scripts. **Webflow.** The Data API has a public OpenAPI 3.1 spec with 140 operations, scoped OAuth and site tokens, and CMS items that stay drafts until a separate publish call. The MCP server loads 34 multi-action tools and can't create new localised CMS items. The free plan holds 50 CMS items, and the activity log needs the $2,500 Team plan. ## Before you call either ### Prismic 1. Ask a repository Administrator to activate Prismic MCP in Settings first. Activation can take several minutes, and each environment has its own setting 2. Call `list_repositories`, then `get_custom_type` or `get_shared_slice` for the empty content template before `create_document` 3. Create a release with `create_release` and write into it. Call `publish_release` only on an explicit request, because a publish cannot be undone through MCP 4. For the Migration API send `Authorization: Bearer ` and a `repository` header, one page a request, one request a second, and keep each returned `id` for later PUT calls 5. Upload media first (`upload_asset` or POST to `https://asset-api.prismic.io/assets`) and reference the asset `id` in image and media link fields ### Webflow 1. Send the token as `Authorization: Bearer` to https://api.webflow.com/v2. Ask for `cms:read` and `cms:write` only, plus `sites:write` if the task publishes 2. Create or update items first, then call Publish Items or Publish Site. An item with `isDraft` true and a `lastPublished` date is live with unpublished changes 3. Stay under 60 requests a minute on Starter and Basic and 120 on Premium, read X-RateLimit-Remaining, and wait for Retry-After on 429 4. Page item lists with `limit` (maximum 100) and `offset`, and filter with `filter[][]`, up to 10 terms 5. Upload an asset in two steps (create the asset with a file hash, then POST the bytes to the presigned URL). Write localised content with the item's `cmsLocaleId` ## Questions ### Which is better for AI agents, Prismic or Webflow?
