Ahead on: - Reliability, 78 against 41 - Schema & documentation, 82 against 0 - Agent ergonomics, 70 against 0 - Security & auth, 74 against 8 - Transparency & trust, 65 against 52 Also in its favour: - No key needed to call it - Free to start without a card Watch for: The Claude provider runs with `permissionMode: 'bypassPermissions'`, so shell, file and web tools run inside the container with no prompt ### Talorys (F) Good for: A single person who wants a private assistant for memory, tasks, notes and reminders on their own Cloudflare account. Ahead on: - Maintenance & community, 83 against 78 Also in its favour: - No incidents deducted, where NanoClaw loses 5 points for them Watch for: No API key, MCP server or A2A endpoint, and the /api routes need the owner's browser session. ## Score by category | Category | Weight | NanoClaw | Talorys | Edge | | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Reliability | 16% (20 this run) | 78 | 41 | NanoClaw +37 | | Performance | 10%, pending | pending | pending | not scored in this run | | Schema & documentation | 13% (16.2 this run) | 82 | 0 | NanoClaw +82 | | Agent ergonomics | 13% (16.2 this run) | 70 | 0 | NanoClaw +70 | | Security & auth | 14% (17.5 this run) | 74 | 8 | NanoClaw +66 | | Payments & pricing | 10% (12.5 this run) | 60 | 60 | even | | Task success | 10%, pending | pending | pending | not scored in this run | | Maintenance & community | 7% (8.8 this run) | 78 | 83 | Talorys +5 | | Transparency & trust | 7% (8.8 this run) | 65 | 52 | NanoClaw +13 | | Negative events | ≤15 | -5 | 0 | | | **Total** | | **68.3 · B** | **28.9 · F** | | ## Facts side by side | Fact | NanoClaw | Talorys | | --- | --- | --- | | Kind | Agent harness | Platform | | Vendor | NanoCo, Inc. | Roc Yu (rociiu) and contributors | | Hosted endpoint | no (local only) | no (local only) | | Transports | | | | Auth | None | OAuth or key | | Pricing | Free | Free | | x402 | no | no | | Licence | MIT | MIT (Copyright 2026 The Talorys contributors). Inside the container the agent runs with permission prompts off, network egress is open by default, and it can message any chat it is wired to without approval. **Talorys.** Talorys is an MIT-licensed assistant its owner deploys to their own Cloudflare account, with no telemetry, a documented threat model and code-enforced confirmation for destructive tools. It is two days old at version 0.1.5, has no mail, calendar or payment connections, and no interface for an outside agent. ## Before you call either ### NanoClaw 1. Install with `git clone` and `bash nanoclaw.sh`. There is no registry package, and setup needs Docker, Node 22 or later and a Claude or Codex credential 2. Set `NANOCLAW_EGRESS_LOCKDOWN=true` before giving an agent credentials or an audience of strangers. The default leaves egress open 3. Put chats with different audiences in separate agent groups. Every session of a group shares one read-write workspace and memory tree 4. Turn on per-request approval for a secret in the gateway when its use should wait for a person. It is off unless configured 5. On OneCLI installs, move the gateway to 1.42.0 by the upgrade guide before updating to 2026.10.0. The updater stops until that is done ### Talorys 1. Run `npx create-talorys@latest` with Node.js 22 or later and a Cloudflare login or an API token with Workers, Pages and Workers AI permissions. 2. Don't script the /api routes. They need the owner's session cookie and CSRF header and aren't documented for other callers. 3. Update with `npx create-talorys@latest update`. Only the latest version gets security fixes. ## Questions ### Which is better for AI agents, NanoClaw or Talorys? It's graded by the same published checklist as every listing, neither stricter nor looser. Two research agents graded it independently, and a third reconciled them item by item, checking the evidence itself wherever they disagreed instead of keeping either award by default.
