Its approval setting applies in shared Slack threads only, so writes asked for by direct message, text or web chat run unasked, which its pricing page does not say. It has no status page, and its changelog stops in October 2025.\n\n**OpenDuet.** Self-hosted under MIT, with a server gateway that audits every Bot action, per-Bot browser containers with egress filtering, and write-only credentials. Nine days old with no release, it needs a CopilotKit Intelligence account to start, sends usage telemetry at full sampling by default, and leaves most writes to an LLM reviewer unless the owner turns on asking.\n\n## Before you call either\n\n### Lindy\n\n1. Treat a request sent by direct message, text or web chat as unguarded. Approval prompts appear in shared Slack threads only.\n2. Run a routine as a dry run before turning it on. A dry run reads real data and sends, posts and writes nothing.\n3. Turn off unused tools after adding an MCP server. Every supported tool arrives switched on, and a large server adds more than a hundred.\n4. Expect a billed seat for anyone who mentions Lindy in Slack. A teammate who joins that way has seven free days first.\n5. Connect only hosted MCP servers on public HTTPS with streamable HTTP, the one kind the docs describe.\n\n### OpenDuet\n\n1. Follow the README's Quick start (`bun install`, `bash scripts/start.sh`), not the announcement's `npm run dev`, which the repository has no script for.\n2. Run `bun openbot/scripts/setup-learning.ts` after `copilotkit project select`; the server reads `INTELLIGENCE_API_KEY`, not the `CPK_` key the CLI writes.\n3. Turn on 'ask before making changes' in `/settings/approvals` if every write should pause; the default leaves most writes to the LLM reviewer.\n4. To bring your own agent, register it as a `remote-ag-ui` Bot in `agents.yaml`; its tool calls still pass through the gateway's policy and audit.\n5. Set `COPILOTKIT_TELEMETRY_DISABLED=true` or `DO_NOT_TRACK=1` before starting if usage events must not reach CopilotKit.\n\n## Questions\n\n### Which is better for AI agents, Lindy or OpenDuet?\n\nOpenDuet scores 49.5 (D) on agent readiness against Lindy's 32.5 (F), and leads in 6 of 7 scored categories. Lindy leads on payments \u0026 pricing.\n\n### Are Lindy and OpenDuet open source?\n\nNo open-source release is listed for Lindy. OpenDuet is open source (MIT. Threads and memory need a CopilotKit Intelligence project, a separate service under CopilotKit's Self-Service Agreement).\n\n\n## For agents\n\n- This comparison as JSON: https://www.anchorterminal.com/compare/lindy-vs-openduet.json, and with the fewest tokens: https://www.anchorterminal.com/compare/lindy-vs-openduet.min.md\n- Over MCP at https://www.anchorterminal.com/mcp (no key): `compare_tools {\"a\": \"lindy\", \"b\": \"openduet\"}`.
