Why the edge:
- Reliability, LangWatch +40: LangWatch 63 (Graded as a hosted service (LangWatch Cloud). Better Stack status page with 8 components and 90 days of history (20). From 3 August to 1 November the App was down for 22 seconds on 23 October and the Collector for 5 minutes on 13 August. The Processor was degraded four times, the longest 2 hours 34 minutes on 15 September. Scenarios was down on 13 days (9 hours 34 minutes on 8 September, 7 hours 6 minutes on 23 and 30 October), Workflows for 5 hours 21 minutes on 23 October and Langy on 16 days. Each touched one component while the App and Collector stayed up, so this run reads them as partial and minor, where the 9 October check scored the long ones at 10 (20). No request rate limit for the platform API was found in the reviewed documentation. The only numbers are customer-set limits on AI Gateway virtual keys (0). Retries are partly covered. Events carry an idempotency key and are deduplicated, `evaluation_id` makes an evaluation call idempotent, and three operations declare a 429. No general backoff guidance for the platform API was found (8). The pricing page lists audit logs and SLAs on Enterprise, with no published terms (5). The REST API, MCP server 3.0.0 and the SDKs are generally available (10). 20+20+0+8+5+10 = 63.); Overmind 23 (No status page. status.overmindlab.ai doesn't resolve, /status returns 404 and neither the site nor the docs link one (0). With no history to read, 5. No request rate limits for the REST API, MCP or OTLP ingest were found in the docs. The only pacing settings, `JEV_REQUESTS_PER_MINUTE` and `JEV_TOKENS_PER_SECOND`, are self-hosting configuration for the scoring model (0). No 429 or Retry-After guidance, but the docs give safe-retry rules in detail. Launches, uploads, pipeline runs and inference take a stable `request_key`, identical retries return the existing receipt, changed payloads conflict, and `run_evaluation` is named as not idempotent (8). The terms promise commercially reasonable efforts toward 99.5 per cent availability a month, with remedies only in an order form or separate SLA, so half (5). The site doesn't call the service beta, but the SDK is classed "3 - Alpha" on its package metadata and the public repository is seven weeks old (5). 0+5+0+8+5+5 = 23.)
- Maintenance & community, LangWatch +14: LangWatch 90 (Platform 3.21.0 on 21 October 2026, TypeScript SDK 2.1.0 and MCP server 3.0.0 on 30 October (30). 19 platform releases dated since 3 August in CHANGELOG.md, and weekly dated entries on the public changelog to 25 October (20). Per the 9 October check, not re-read on 1 November (GitHub's pages refuse our reader), 52 open issues and 222 open pull requests, with new issues labelled and prioritised by maintainers within a week, and support by email, Discord and GitHub (17). Current official SDKs, Python 1.4.0 on 6 September, TypeScript 2.1.0 on 30 October and Go 1.0.0 on 9 September. The MCP server is still not in the official MCP registry (15). CI workflows for the app, each SDK and the MCP server, CodeQL and dependency bumps in the changelog, with fixes for dependency alerts in October. We could not confirm the pass state (8).); Overmind 76 (overmind 0.1.115 on PyPI on 2026-10-31, and the last commit on main the same day (30). 41 PyPI releases since 21 September 2026 and 24 git tags from v0.0.15 on 18 September to v0.1.23 on 30 October (20). github.com answered 403 to this session, so issues and pull request replies weren't read. 172 commits on main from eight people since 15 September, a Discord server and a support email (8). One official SDK, Python, current with the platform (10). Public CI workflows for the platform and SDK, Dependabot bumps merged on 28 October and a CI badge. We couldn't see the pass state (8). 30+20+8+10+8 = 76.)
- Transparency & trust, LangWatch +11: LangWatch 76 (Apache 2.0 platform with the `platform/app/ee` directory under a separate Enterprise licence, and MIT SDKs and MCP server (27). The privacy policy of 29 September 2026 names its processors and the retention docs are detailed, but the documents disagree in places. The pricing page says 30-day retention is included where the docs say 49 days, the terms describe a 14-day free trial where the pricing page says free forever, and the terms give two addresses and two spellings of the entity. The terms also grant LangWatch a perpetual licence to use client data to improve the platform, while saying it will not train on it (18). Deprecated endpoints are marked in the OpenAPI document and the docs, and breaking changes are flagged in the changelogs, but no removal dates or notice period were found (10). EU hosting on AWS is stated and processors are named in the privacy policy. Self-hosted telemetry is documented connection by connection with an off switch. The public sub-processor list is on a host we could not read (18).); Overmind 65 (Platform under AGPL-3.0 and SDK and CLI under MIT, both OSI licences, with a paid commercial licence as an option and a licensing page that says which code is which (30). The privacy policy of 3 October 2026 gives retention (subscription plus 30 days, deletion within 90 days, logs 365 days, backups 7 days), AWS eu-west-1 hosting and OAuth token lifetimes. The terms of 1 March 2026 still describe an earlier security product, say data stays in UK and EU data centres while the privacy policy names model, training and inference providers without locations, and incorporate a DPA that isn't published. The two documents agree on retention but not on the product (15). The terms promise 90 days' written notice before withdrawing a capability and 30 days' notice of material changes. No dated deprecation notices were found (8). SDK analytics are an opt-in extra with three documented off switches. The hosted MCP server reports to PostHog with payloads dropped, which the docs don't mention, and no named sub-processor list was found beyond AWS, though the docs name Modal, OpenRouter, Clerk and Stripe (12). 30+15+8+12 = 65.)
- Payments & pricing, LangWatch +10: LangWatch 40 (No x402, MPP or L402 (0). Per-unit prices are public without a login, 29 euros per core seat a month, 5 euros per 100,000 events and $0.0546 per million judge input tokens (20). The Developer plan is free with no card (20). A person signs up in a browser and creates the first key. The CLI's device-code login also needs a browser approval, and `platform_create_project` returns a key only to a caller that already holds an organisation key. Free self-hosting is not an agent route (0).); Overmind 30 (No x402 or other machine payment. Paid work spends prepaid credits, and `402` is documented only for insufficient credits (0). Plan prices, the credit rate ($0.01) and per-model "from" prices for training and serving are published without login (20). A Free plan with $50 of credits once exists, but neither the pricing page nor the docs say whether a card is needed, so half (10). A person signs up in a browser at console.overmindlab.ai. MCP OAuth with dynamic registration still needs a sign-in, and `create_api_key` needs an existing connection (0). Self-hosting under AGPL is free but runs on the operator's own Modal, OpenRouter, AWS and Hugging Face accounts, so it isn't scored as the hosted option. 0+20+10+0 = 30.)
- Agent ergonomics, Overmind +9: LangWatch 67 (The MCP server registers 110 tools in the 3.0.0 source, with no toolsets or dynamic loading found. Trace tools return a compact digest by default, which earns 3 back (8). Cursor paging with `next_cursor`, `limit` and `pageSize`, filters, a projection DSL on trace search and a `digest` or `json` format switch (20). Gateway errors carry a stable code, tips, a docs link and a `fault` field, and the MCP client passes them on. Platform errors are plainer (16). No `readOnlyHint` or `destructiveHint` in the MCP source. Idempotency exists for evaluations and ingested events, and several delete tools archive instead of removing (8). Python, TypeScript and Go SDKs, a CLI, and few required parameters (15).); Overmind 76 (About 85 MCP tools in the source, all loaded for a read-write connection. A key or OAuth grant without write sees only the read tools (about 22), which is the only subset (5, plus 5 for the read-only filter). Cursor and offset pagination, limits by item count and response bytes, `preview_rows` bounded 1 to 1,000, query filters on traces by status, duration, tokens, cost and time, and `evidence_resource` links for paging retained results (20). MCP errors carry a structured code, message, retryability and field details, and authentication failures are kept apart from workflow failures. REST validation errors include details (18). Stable `request_key` on paid and long-running operations with conflict on a changed payload, and every tool sets readOnlyHint, destructiveHint, idempotentHint and openWorldHint from its catalogue entry. Only two tools are marked destructive (20). Account connections must pass `project_id` on every project tool. One official SDK, Python, plus OpenTelemetry from any language and the OpenAI client for inference (8). 10+20+18+20+8 = 76.)
- Schema & documentation, LangWatch +6: LangWatch 87 (A public OpenAPI 3.1 document of 281 paths and 406 operations on 1 November, served without a key, and typed zod inputs on every MCP tool (25). llms.txt and a Markdown twin of each docs page (10). Every operation has a summary or description, and MCP descriptions say when to pick a tool, for example `run_query` for counts and rates and `discover_schema` before a search. 192 operations carry no tag (16). 910 `enum` keys in the document, with trace filters still accepted as a free-form map alongside the query language (12). Docs pages carry request examples, and the gateway error list gives 34 codes with cause and remedy. Most platform operations document errors only as an `error` and `message` string pair (11). Dated public changelog, release notes per package and a document version of 1.0.0, with `/api/v1` paths mixed among unversioned ones (13).); Overmind 81 (The docs say each deployment serves its OpenAPI schema at `/api/schema/`, and the repository holds a generated client of 451 files under frontend/src/openapi. api.overmindlab.ai's robots.txt allows only /.well-known/, so the schema itself wasn't read. Every MCP tool takes a Pydantic input model with `extra="forbid"`, compiled to JSON Schema in overbae/services/mcp/catalog.py, read in the source at main on 31 October 2026 (25). llms.txt with 42 pages, llms-full.txt and Markdown for every page on Mintlify (10). Tool descriptions say what each does and what it doesn't ("Does not activate application routing", "no execution", "Passive: never starts provider work"), and the MCP reference warns that an inspection-style name doesn't mean zero cost. Some workbench descriptions are clipped to the point of being hard to parse (16). Typed inputs with Literal enums, length and range bounds, UUID formats and required fields (13). The docs have worked examples for the CLI, SDK, OTLP and inference, and document status classes (401, 402, 403, 404, 409) and structured MCP errors with code, message, retryability and field details, without a full error-code list (10). The MCP server exposes a contract version and a catalogue fingerprint at `overmind://interface/current`. The SDK changelog has one undated Unreleased section and no product changelog was found (7). 25+10+16+13+10+7 = 81.)
