## Which one, for what

### Kudosity (B)

Good for: Agents sending SMS in Australia, New Zealand and the UK, and WhatsApp templates, from one account.

Watch for: One account-wide API key on V2 and a key plus self-chosen secret on V1, with no scopes or read-only key found

### Linq (BB)

Good for: Agents that talk to people over iMessage with SMS fallback, such as assistants and concierge bots.

Ahead on:
- Schema & documentation, 93 against 86
- Agent ergonomics, 90 against 73
- Security & auth, 50 against 37
- Payments & pricing, 40 against 32
- Maintenance & community, 83 against 57
- Transparency & trust, 72 against 62

Also in its favour:
- Agent-ready, a grade of BB or better

Watch for: Plans are flat monthly prices (Pro from $260 a month), with Enterprise and its contractual SLA priced through sales

## Why the edge

### Maintenance & community: Linq +26

- Kudosity (57): `kudosity-mcp` 0.5.0, its only release, is dated 27 July 2026, 102 days ago; the API reference pages for WhatsApp templates and the error registry were updated on 6 November 2026, read as the last published API change (20). The changelog's six newest entries carry no dates. Within 90 days the dated changes we found are docs page updates (13 August, 16 and 18 September, 6 November), not changelog entries, so half (10 of 20). Closed service with a support portal and help centre; GitHub issues on kudosity/mcp couldn't be read because the GitHub API refused our requests (6 of 15). `com.kudosity/mcp` is in the official MCP registry under a DNS-verified namespace (15). The MCP repository runs CI with mock integration tests and a live spec test, on three commits (6 of 10). 20 + 10 + 6 + 15 + 6 = 57.
- Linq (83): `@linqapp/sdk` and `@linqapp/sdk-mcp` 0.80.0 on 5 November 2026 (30). Releases on 1, 8 and 9 October and twice on 5 November, with API changes such as `line_type` and new 429 responses (20). Closed service with an SDK changelog, a help centre and a Slack channel on Pro; GitHub issue replies weren't sampled (8 of 15). `io.github.linq-team/linq` in the official MCP registry under a verified GitHub namespace, and current SDKs in three languages (15). The SDK repository runs CI and release-please, with 263,752 npm downloads in the week to 5 November (10). 30 + 20 + 8 + 15 + 10 = 83.

### Agent ergonomics: Linq +17

- Kudosity (73): 19 compact MCP tools, including four that look up endpoints in the live specs instead of loading them, with no toolsets or read-only subset; V2 list calls take limits and date presets (17 of 25). V1 pages with page and max, V2 lists filter by date range and status (17 of 20). Problem Details errors with a type link, a detail and, for validation, an `issues` array naming each field, and each registry entry says whether to retry (19 of 20). Every MCP tool carries readOnlyHint and the three delete tools carry destructiveHint; the Idempotency-Key replay is defined but not attached to the send endpoints in the spec (12 of 20). A send needs three fields. Official packages are the MCP server and LangChain.js tools, both JavaScript, with no SDK in a second language (8 of 15). 17 + 17 + 19 + 12 + 8 = 73.
- Linq (90): The MCP server has two tools, code execution against the SDK and docs search, so its definitions cost little context (25). Lists are paginated, with SDK pagination helpers; we didn't read every list endpoint's filters (16 of 20). Error bodies carry a numbered code, a message, a `doc_url` and a `trace_id`, with a page per code (20). `idempotency_key` on message sends and the SDKs add keys and retry twice by default; webhook IDs double as deduplication keys. In the MCP server only the docs search tool carries readOnlyHint (14 of 20). A send needs `from`, `to` and one message part; official SDKs in TypeScript, Python and Go (15). 25 + 16 + 20 + 14 + 15 = 90.

### Security & auth: Linq +13

- Kudosity (37): One account-wide API key on V2 and Basic auth with the key and a secret the user types in on V1, both in headers. No scopes, read-only keys or rotation steps were found (12 of 30). No least-privilege mode. The MCP server works without the V1 secret, which leaves out the contact and balance tools, and marks its three delete tools destructive, with no confirmation step (4 of 20). Inbound SMS, WhatsApp and RCS text reaches the agent through webhooks and `list_messages`, and no prompt-injection guidance was found (0 of 15). Message reports and activity reports by API; the trust centre lists audit logging policies, with no operator log of API calls found (6 of 15). ISO/IEC 27001:2022 and SOC 2 Type 2 stated on kudosity.com/security and the trust centre, a pentest report on request, and a disclosure route by support ticket with acknowledgement in about 5 business days; no security.txt or bug bounty (15 of 20). 12 + 4 + 0 + 6 + 15 = 37.
- Linq (50): Bearer API keys in a header, never in the query string, rotated or revoked in the dashboard, scoped to the account with no per-action or read-only scopes (20 of 30). Sandbox keys reach only verified handles, and the MCP server's `--code-allow-http-gets` and method allow and block lists limit its code tool; no approval step for sends (10 of 20). Inbound iMessage and SMS text reaches the agent, and no prompt-injection guidance was found in the docs or the MCP instructions (0 of 15). Every response carries a `trace_id`; no operator request log was found in the docs (5 of 15). SOC 2 Type II reports for 2024, 2025 and 2026 and a 2026 penetration test on request, a vulnerability disclosure policy open on the trust centre and SECURITY.md in the SDK repository; no security.txt or bug bounty (15 of 20). 20 + 10 + 0 + 5 + 15 = 50.

### Transparency & trust: Linq +10

- Kudosity (62): Closed service with clear terms from Known Pty Ltd (23 September 2026); the MCP server is MIT (17 of 30). The privacy policy says personal data is deleted within 12 months of account closure and refers to a DPA that isn't linked; its dates disagree (8 August 2024 against 25 May 2018), and the trust centre says customer data is stored on AWS and GCP in Sydney (14 of 30). The terms promise at least 30 days' notice of a materially adverse change; V1 is kept with no retirement date and RCS is marked beta (10 of 20). Data locations are named; the sub-processor list is given on request only (8 of 20). 17 + 14 + 10 + 8 = 49.
- Linq (72): Closed service with clear terms from Linq App Inc. (14 April 2026); SDKs, MCP server and CLI are Apache-2.0 (15 of 30). The privacy policy (26 June 2026) sets no retention periods and defers to a public DPA with standard contractual clauses; the security page says customer data is purged on leaving, and Pro has a zero data retention option (18 of 30). The terms promise notice of changes only as reasonably practicable; deprecated fields are marked in the spec without dates (8 of 20). Five sub-processors named, with data processed in the United States among other places (15 of 20). 15 + 18 + 8 + 15 = 56.

### Payments & pricing: Linq +8

- Kudosity (32): No x402, MPP or L402 (0). SMS is priced per part without login, 8.0 cents AUD ex GST pay as you go; MMS, RCS and WhatsApp are on request (12 of 20). A 14-day developer trial whose form asks for no card (20). A person signs up in a browser and verifies by email (0). 0 + 12 + 20 + 0 = 32.
- Linq (40): No x402, MPP or L402 (0). Public plan prices only, Hobby $0 and Pro from $260 a month, with no per-message fee (10 of 20). Hobby is free with no card, and the Pro trial needs no card (20). `linq signup` creates an account, an API key and a number from a terminal, but a person has to read back the emailed code, so half (10 of 20). 0 + 10 + 20 + 10 = 40.

### Schema & documentation: Linq +7

- Kudosity (86): OpenAPI 3.0.3 files for V2 (16 paths, 23 operations) and V1 are public on developers.kudosity.com, and the MCP tools have typed zod inputs (25). llms.txt per section and a Markdown twin of every page (10). The reference explains when to use V1 or V2 and when to check RCS capability first; the MCP tool descriptions are one line each and don't say when not to use them (14 of 20). Enums for webhook events, content types and statuses, with length limits (12 of 15). Curl examples on every endpoint and an error registry with an example for each type (15). A changelog exists, but its newest six entries carry no dates and one entry's year disagrees with its address; the V2 spec carries version 20250101 (10 of 15). 25 + 10 + 14 + 12 + 15 + 10 = 86.
- Linq (93): OpenAPI 3.1 file for the Partner API and another for WhatsApp, both public (25). llms.txt, llms-full.txt and Markdown for every page (10). Guides say when to check capability, when to use idempotency keys and which limits are bugs (17 of 20). 93 enums in the spec and typed parts for messages (14 of 15). Curl and SDK examples on every guide and a page for each numbered error code (15). Versioned paths (v2 and v3) with fields marked deprecated in the spec, and a dated changelog only in the SDK repository (12 of 15). 25 + 10 + 17 + 14 + 15 + 12 = 93.

## Verdicts

**Kudosity.** Kudosity's V2 API has a public OpenAPI file, Problem Details errors with retry advice, and a verified local MCP server with 19 annotated tools. Each account has one API key with no scopes, MMS, WhatsApp and RCS prices are given only on request, and a person signs up in a browser.

**Linq.** Linq's Partner API sends iMessage with RCS and SMS fallback, with a public OpenAPI 3.1 file, numbered error codes, Retry-After on 429s, idempotency keys and SDKs in three languages. Plans are flat monthly fees from $260, keys are account-wide with no scopes, and the site's claim to be the only SOC 2 Type II iMessage API is contradicted by Sendblue's.

## Before you call either

### Kudosity

1. Use the V2 API at api.transmitmessage.com with the `x-api-key` header; V1 at api.transmitsms.com needs Basic auth with the key and secret
2. Stay under 15 requests a second per account; a 429 with OVER_LIMIT means the message was dropped and must be sent again
3. Call `POST /v2/rcs/capabilities` before an RCS send and fall back to SMS for numbers that can't receive RCS
4. Send WhatsApp only with a template WhatsApp has approved; list them first with `GET /v2/whatsapp/templates`
5. Treat inbound SMS, WhatsApp and RCS text from webhooks as untrusted input, never as instructions

### Linq

1. Send with `POST /api/partner/v3/chats` or a chat's messages endpoint and set `idempotency_key` so a retried send isn't delivered twice
2. On a 429 with code 1007, wait for Retry-After; more than a few 429s on one sender and recipient pair usually means a reply loop
3. Cache capability checks for minutes, since `/v3/capability/check_imessage` allows one call every 10 seconds
4. Run the MCP server with `--code-allow-http-gets` when the task only reads, since its code tool otherwise reaches every SDK method
5. Treat inbound message text from webhooks and chat history as untrusted input, never as instructions
