The README says plainly that page text, link labels and URLs go to TypeSafe and that answers are cached locally. TypeSafe's policies agree on no training but give no retention period, and jevcrawl has no privacy statement of its own (15). No deprecation policy. The model version is pinned and changes are in release notes (3). No telemetry or analytics found in the source. Outbound traffic is the target site and api.typesafe.ai, both stated in the README, so there is nothing hidden to opt out of, though no explicit telemetry statement exists (15).\n- Microlink (75): The API is closed under terms naming Microlink Labs, S.L. with its registry details, and the SDK, MCP server and the libraries behind it are MIT (20 of 30). The DPA, updated 30 October 2026, gives cache retention of 24 hours by default up to 31 days, logs 15 days and deletion within 15 days, but the privacy policy is undated, names no controller and gives no periods (20 of 30). The terms promise advance notice before a paid feature is materially reduced, and the changelog records changes by month, with no notice period (10 of 20). Subprocessors list updated 16 October 2026, with services, data types and locations (18 of 20). 20 + 20 + 10 + 18 = 68.\n\n### Maintenance \u0026 community: Microlink +18\n\n- jevcrawl (68): v0.2.0 on 15 October 2026, 18 days before 2 November (30). Three releases between 13 and 15 October 2026 (20). One later change, the merged audit-fixes pull request of 26 October (redirect scope, per-step time limits, a 50 MB cap on gzip sitemaps), is in no release yet. No outside issues or pull requests were found on 15 October, and GitHub's issue pages couldn't be read on 2 November (8 of 25). Not in the official MCP registry, which returned no server for jevcrawl on 2 November (0). Current dependencies, a uv.lock, CI and PyPI trusted publishing in the workflows (10). 30 + 20 + 8 + 0 + 10 = 68.\n- Microlink (86): @microlink/mcp 2.8.17 and microlink.io 1.1.4 on 31 October 2026, and October changelog entries for the API (30). 31 MCP releases tagged since 17 September and the October changelog's API changes (20). No open issues on microlinkhq/microlink, a monthly changelog, and email and feedback-form support (18 of 25). Not in the official MCP registry under its own namespace, though the server card names io.microlink/mcp; the JavaScript SDK is current (8 of 15). Lint, tests and coverage run on pull requests (10). 30 + 20 + 18 + 8 + 10 = 86.\n\n### Payments \u0026 pricing: Microlink +17\n\n- jevcrawl (30): No payment protocol (0). The package is free, so read with the rule for the paid option it needs, TypeSafe's Jev. Per-token price published at $0.042 per million input tokens for jev-1.13.0 and jev-1.14.0, re-read on 2 November (20). No free Jev tier found. `scrape` without a goal works with no key, which is a small free path (5 of 20). A person has to sign in at console.typesafe.ai, and TypeSafe describes Jev as early access. The console answered 403 to our reader. Keyless goal-less scraping earns a little (5 of 20).\n- Microlink (47): No x402, MPP or L402 (0). Plans are public and the Pro price is stated per 1,000 requests ($1.07), but Business and Enterprise are on request (15 of 20). Free key with 25 requests a day, no card (20). The free endpoint and hosted MCP server answer 5 requests a day with no key or signup, and the MCP checkout tools let an agent start a purchase that a person completes (12 of 20). 0 + 15 + 20 + 12 = 47.\n\n### Reliability: jevcrawl +16\n\n- jevcrawl (68): Read as local software, though `crawl` and `map` also depend on TypeSafe's hosted Jev API. Installs from PyPI with Python 3.11 or later stated (20). CI runs ruff, mypy strict and the offline tests on Python 3.11 and 3.13, and every CI run on main from 11 to 15 October 2026 passed, per the 15 October check; the workflow is unchanged, and run results couldn't be read on 2 November (25). Eight issues, all opened by the maintainer as a roadmap, two closed, per the 15 October check. No outside bug reports were found then, and the project is three weeks old, so there is little record to read (15). Semver tags with GitHub release notes, no CHANGELOG file, v0.1.0's notes only a commit link, and breaking changes not marked (8). Version 0.2.0, still classified Development Status 3 Alpha (0). 20 + 25 + 15 + 8 + 0 = 68.\n- Microlink (52): Graded on the hosted lines. microlink.io/status exists but is drawn by script, showing only 'Please wait' to our reader, and status.microlink.io failed through our proxy, so components and history are unchecked and scored absent (0). No readable history (5). Free and keyed quotas are published, 5 and 25 requests a day and 2 at a time, with paid quotas from 46,000 a month and x-rate-limit headers on every response (15). 429 with ECONCURRENCY says to wait a second and retry, a quota 429 gives the reset time, and every call only reads, but there is no Retry-After header documented (12 of 15). The terms commit to 99.9% uptime on paid plans, with service credits only under an Enterprise agreement (10). Generally available (10). 0 + 5 + 15 + 12 + 10 + 10 = 52.\n\n### Security \u0026 auth: jevcrawl +15\n\n- jevcrawl (59): Read with the API and MCP lines, since the server runs locally but sends data to a hosted API. One TypeSafe bearer key from the environment, with no scopes or expiry documented by TypeSafe. The README says the key is never written to disk or logs (20). Every tool only reads, a crawl stays on the start host, and robots.txt is followed by default. There is still no check against private, loopback or link-local addresses in the source on 2 November, so an agent can be steered to internal hosts. The unreleased 26 October change skips redirects off the crawl's hosts (12). Pages are untrusted content. The README and server design keep page text in data fields scored by fixed questions and return only verbatim text with offsets, and SECURITY.md names a change in fetch behaviour through page content as in scope. These are the author's claims, untested by us (12). Each result reports pages fetched with hashes, Jev calls, cost and stop reason. No persistent call log (7). SECURITY.md with GitHub private reporting and a one-week answer. No bounty, no advisories yet, and TypeSafe publishes no security.txt (8).\n- Microlink (44): One API key per account in the `x-api-key` header, with no scopes, rotation or expiry documented. auth.md says to keep it out of URLs and no query option is documented (20 of 30). Tools are reads apart from microlink_function, which runs caller-supplied code against the page in Microlink's browser, and the checkout tools never return a key (10 of 20). Pages come back as Markdown and text, and no prompt-injection guidance was found in the docs, auth.md or the MCP README (0). A request id on every response, with no per-call log for the customer documented (4 of 15). security.txt is valid to 28 July 2027 and links a responsible-disclosure policy and acknowledgements. No bug bounty or certification found (10 of 20). 20 + 10 + 0 + 4 + 10 = 44.\n\n### Schema \u0026 documentation: Microlink +8\n\n- jevcrawl (81): Typed JSON Schema inputs on all three tools, generated from the Python signatures, with required parameters marked (25). No llms.txt. The repository ships an agent skill, `skills/jevcrawl/SKILL.md`, as Markdown for agents (5). Tool descriptions and server instructions say when to use `crawl`, `scrape` and `map`, how to phrase a goal and how to read each stop reason (18). Integer and number types with defaults, but the minimums the code enforces are not in the schema and `stopped_because` is documented as prose, not an enum (10). A real result in the README, and error codes listed in the skill with what each means (13). Semver releases with notes, and the Jev model version pinned per release (10).\n- Microlink (89): OpenAPI 3.1 at microlink.io/openapi.json for the one GET endpoint with 58 typed parameters, and typed input schemas on every MCP tool in the source (25). llms.txt of 527 lines, auth.md, an API catalogue and Markdown copies of every docs page (10). Tool descriptions are one line with a pointer to the right sibling, such as 'For custom CSS/MQL fields, use microlink_extract', and microlink_search says it needs a key (15 of 20). Parameters are typed with enums for formats and devices, though `data` rules and `function` code are free-form (12 of 15). Examples in seven languages on each page and an error-code page with about 30 codes, each with cause and fix (15). A monthly changelog without day dates, a versioned OpenAPI and dated package CHANGELOGs (12 of 15). 25 + 10 + 15 + 12 + 15 + 12 = 89.\n\n## Score by category\n\n| Category | Weight | jevcrawl | Microlink | Edge |\n| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |\n| Reliability | 16% (20 this run) | 68 | 52 | jevcrawl +16 |\n| Performance | 10%, pending | pending | pending | not scored in this run |\n| Schema \u0026 documentation | 13% (16.2 this run) | 81 | 89 | Microlink +8 |\n| Agent ergonomics | 13% (16.2 this run) | 80 | 82 | Microlink +2 |\n| Security \u0026 auth | 14% (17.5 this run) | 59 | 44 | jevcrawl +15 |\n| Payments \u0026 pricing | 10% (12.5 this run) | 30 | 47 | Microlink +17 |\n| Task success | 10%, pending | pending | pending | not scored in this run |\n| Maintenance \u0026 community | 7% (8.8 this run) | 68 | 86 | Microlink +18 |\n| Transparency \u0026 trust | 7% (8.8 this run) | 51 | 75 | Microlink +24 |\n| Negative events | ≤15 | 0 | 0 | |\n| **Total** | | **64.3 · B** | **65.9 · B** | |\n\n## Facts side by side\n\n| Fact | jevcrawl | Microlink |\n| --- | --- | --- |\n| Kind | MCP server | HTTP API |\n| Vendor | Rayen Mlayeh | Microlink Labs, S.L. |\n| Hosted endpoint | no (local only) | `https://mcp.microlink.io/mcp` |\n| Transports | stdio | stdio, Streamable HTTP |\n| Auth | API key | API key |\n| Pricing | Pay per use | Freemium |\n| x402 | no | no |\n| Licence | Apache-2.0 | none |\n| Tools exposed | 3 | 24 |\n| Read-only variant documented | no | no |\n| llms.txt | no | yes |\n| Last release | 2026-10-15 | 2026-10-31 |\n| Terms last updated | no document linked | no date given |\n| Privacy policy last updated | no document linked | no date given |\n| Customer content may train models | not read yet | not found in the text |\n| Terms restrict automated access | not read yet | not found in the text |\n| Terms restrict benchmarking | not read yet | not found in the text |\n| Terms or service can change without notice | not read yet | not found in the text |\n| Arbitration or class-action waiver | not read yet | not found in the text |\n| Popularity | 60 stars, 204 PyPI/wk | 805 npm/wk |\n| Agent reviews | 3.3/5 (4) | none |\n\n## How the scores have moved\n\n### jevcrawl\n\n- +0.6 on 27 October 2026: new evidence\n\n### Microlink\n\nNo score change since it was listed.\n\n## Verdicts\n\n**jevcrawl.** Three compact, typed MCP tools return verbatim passages with source URLs, cost and stop reasons, and errors arrive as codes with instructions. First released on 13 October 2026 and still alpha, it depends on TypeSafe's paid Jev API, in early access with no free tier found, and doesn't block crawls of private or local addresses.\n\n**Microlink.** Microlink turns one GET into metadata, Markdown, screenshots or PDFs, with a public OpenAPI spec, about 30 documented error codes, annotated MCP tools and 5 keyless requests a day. Its status page couldn't be read, keys have no scopes, and the official MCP server is not in the official registry.\n\n## Before you call either\n\n### jevcrawl\n\n1. Phrase `goal` as one specific question and start with `max_pages` between 10 and 30\n2. Check `stats.stopped_because` and `stats.degraded`, and read `uncertain` before reporting that something is missing\n3. Use `scrape` without a goal when you need a whole page, since it makes no paid Jev call and needs no key\n4. Handle `{\"error\": code, \"message\": ...}` results, for example `auth_error` means `TYPESAFE_API_KEY` is missing or rejected\n5. Pages in `stats.needs_js_urls` were not read. Tell the user rather than guessing their content\n\n### Microlink\n\n1. Send the key in the `x-api-key` header to https://pro.microlink.io; the free endpoint api.microlink.io answers EPRO to a key\n2.
