Ahead on: - Reliability, 65 against 58 - Payments & pricing, 94 against 40 Also in its favour: - An agent can pay per call over x402, with no account - Runs on your own machine Watch for: The official MCP server's last npm release is 1.0.25 of 13 April 2025, and it isn't in the official MCP registry ### Notte (B) Good for: Teams that want hosted browsers together with agents, vaults for logins, personas with mailboxes and scheduled browser functions behind one key. Ahead on: - Schema & documentation, 74 against 68 - Agent ergonomics, 75 against 67 - Security & auth, 56 against 44 Watch for: status.notte.cc shows the Scrape API down on 15 of 90 days (about 6 hours in total) and CAPTCHA solving at 88.9 per cent availability ## Score by category | Category | Weight | Hyperbrowser | Notte | Edge | | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Reliability | 16% (20 this run) | 65 | 58 | Hyperbrowser +7 | | Performance | 10%, pending | pending | pending | not scored in this run | | Schema & documentation | 13% (16.2 this run) | 68 | 74 | Notte +6 | | Agent ergonomics | 13% (16.2 this run) | 67 | 75 | Notte +8 | | Security & auth | 14% (17.5 this run) | 44 | 56 | Notte +12 | | Payments & pricing | 10% (12.5 this run) | 94 | 40 | Hyperbrowser +54 | | Task success | 10%, pending | pending | pending | not scored in this run | | Maintenance & community | 7% (8.8 this run) | 79 | 83 | Notte +4 | | Transparency & trust | 7% (8.8 this run) | 64 | 61 | Hyperbrowser +3 | | Negative events | ≤15 | 0 | 0 | | | **Total** | | **66.9 · B** | **63.2 · B** | | ## Facts side by side | Fact | Hyperbrowser | Notte | | --- | --- | --- | | Kind | HTTP API | HTTP API | | Vendor | S2 Labs Inc. | Notte Labs Inc. | | Hosted endpoint | `https://api.hyperbrowser.ai` | `https://api.notte.cc` | | Transports | HTTP, stdio | HTTP | | Auth | OAuth or key | OAuth or key | | Pricing | Freemium | Freemium | | x402 | yes | no | | Licence | Proprietary service under S2 Labs' terms of service. The official MCP server was last published in April 2025, no request rate limits or SLA are published, and the privacy notice covers only the website. **Notte.** Notte publishes an OpenAPI 3.1 contract for 100 operations, a hosted MCP server with eight tools and OAuth, and a free plan with $10 of credits and no card. Its status page records about six hours of Scrape API downtime in 90 days, and a bot check blocked our read of the terms and privacy policy. ## Before you call either ### Hyperbrowser 1. With a wallet and no key, POST to https://api.hyperbrowser.ai/x402/session and read the `PAYMENT-REQUIRED` header. Sessions are prepaid for 5 to 60 minutes with no refund 2. Save the x402 creation response. It holds the only copy of the connection tokens, and `managementToken` is what stops the session 3. Stop sessions explicitly in cleanup code. Browser time bills per second until the timeout 4. Use Fetch at $0.001 a page for static pages and keep browser sessions for pages that need interaction 5. Add `&keepAlive=true` to `wsEndpoint` to reconnect after a CDP disconnect. Treat that URL as a secret because it carries the session token ### Notte 1. Send `Authorization: Bearer $NOTTE_API_KEY` to https://api.notte.cc. A person creates the key in the console at console.notte.cc first 2. Stop every session when the task ends. Sessions close after 3 idle minutes or 15 minutes in total by default, and the Free plan caps a session at 15 minutes 3. Use https://api.notte.cc/mcp for browser work. Function and agent administration tools are only on https://api.notte.cc/mcp/full 4. Back off on 429 and on 529, which means the cluster has too many sessions. The SDKs do not retry rate limits for you 5. Download session replays within 24 hours. The recordings page says they are deleted after that ## Questions ### Which is better for AI agents, Hyperbrowser or Notte?
