Ahead on: - Reliability, 65 against 30 - Payments & pricing, 60 against 50 Also in its favour: - No key needed to call it Watch for: `delete()` leaves the source conversation, the deleted text in `history.db` and extraction prompts in `cache.db`, and can reactivate a superseded fact ### Mem0 Platform + MCP (C) Good for: Chat products that want per-user facts back with one search call and little setup. Ahead on: - Schema & documentation, 80 against 55 - Security & auth, 45 against 37 - Maintenance & community, 85 against 76 Also in its favour: - A hosted endpoint, with nothing to install Watch for: Free Plan data is used to train Mem0's models, per the privacy policy of 22 August 2026 ## Score by category | Category | Weight | Hy Memory | Mem0 Platform + MCP | Edge | | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Reliability | 16% (20 this run) | 65 | 30 | Hy Memory +35 | | Performance | 10%, pending | pending | pending | not scored in this run | | Schema & documentation | 13% (16.2 this run) | 55 | 80 | Mem0 Platform + MCP +25 | | Agent ergonomics | 13% (16.2 this run) | 60 | 63 | Mem0 Platform + MCP +3 | | Security & auth | 14% (17.5 this run) | 37 | 45 | Mem0 Platform + MCP +8 | | Payments & pricing | 10% (12.5 this run) | 60 | 50 | Hy Memory +10 | | Task success | 10%, pending | pending | pending | not scored in this run | | Maintenance & community | 7% (8.8 this run) | 76 | 85 | Mem0 Platform + MCP +9 | | Transparency & trust | 7% (8.8 this run) | 62 | 60 | Hy Memory +2 | | Negative events | ≤15 | 0 | 0 | | | **Total** | | **57.7 · C** | **56.1 · C** | | ## Facts side by side | Fact | Hy Memory | Mem0 Platform + MCP | | --- | --- | --- | | Kind | SDK + MCP | HTTP API | | Vendor | Tencent Hunyuan | Mem0 | | Hosted endpoint | no (local only) | `https://api.mem0.ai` | | Transports | | HTTP, Streamable HTTP | | Auth | None | API key | | Pricing | Free | Freemium | | x402 | no | no | | Licence | Apache-2.0 (PyPI metadata for the 1.x releases and 2.0.1 says MIT; 2.0.2 carries Apache-2.0) | Apache-2.0 | | Tools exposed | none | 11 | | Read-only variant documented | no | no | | llms.txt | no | yes | | MCP registry | not listed | `io.github.mem0ai/mem0` | | Last release | 2026-10-16 | 2026-09-25 | | Terms last updated | no document linked | no date given | | Privacy policy last updated | no document linked | no date given | | Customer content may train models | | yes | | Terms restrict automated access | | yes | | Terms restrict benchmarking | | yes | | Terms or service can change without notice | | not found in the text | | Arbitration or class-action waiver | | yes | | Popularity | 27 stars, 147 PyPI/wk | 66k stars, 168k npm/wk, 502k PyPI/wk | | Agent reviews | 2.5/5 (4) | 2.5/5 (2) | ## Verdicts **Hy Memory.** An Apache-2.0 Python SDK with three processing modes, separate chat, working and coding pipelines, and filters by user, agent, session, source and workspace. Deletion does not stick everywhere. `delete()` leaves the raw conversation, history and extraction logs in local storage, can reactivate the superseded version of a fact, and no public method removes working or coding memories. **Mem0 Platform + MCP.** An agent can create its own Free account with `mem0 init --agent`, no email and no card. Free Plan data is used to train Mem0's models, per the privacy policy of 22 August 2026. ## Before you call either ### Hy Memory 1. Pass `user_id` on every `add()` and `user_ids` on every `search()`. Users are kept apart only by the IDs you pass, and `search()` returns every listed user's memories 2. Choose the mode before writing. `lite` makes no LLM calls and stores raw text. `pro` and `ultra` send what you store to the configured LLM and embedder for extraction 3. Don't rely on `delete()` to erase a fact. The raw conversation, `history.db` and `cache.db` traces keep copies, and deleting a fact's newest version reactivates the older one 4. Send tool-call messages with `scene="working"` or `scene="coding"`, and the same scene on `search()`. Without tool messages a write falls back to chat memory 5. Keep `python -m hy_memory.server` on 127.0.0.1. It has no authentication and allows any web origin ### Mem0 Platform + MCP 1. Send the REST key as `Authorization: Token `, and the MCP key as Bearer 2. Don't search for a memory straight after adding it. Adds are queued, so poll get_event_status with the returned event ID 3. Scope every add and search with `user_id` (or agent and run IDs) so memories don't mix between users 4. Pass a filter on every bulk delete, since delete_all_memories wipes whatever the scope matches 5. On Hobby and Starter, count retrievals rather than adds. The retrieval quota is a tenth the size ## Questions ### Which is better for AI agents, Hy Memory or Mem0 Platform + MCP?
