Its status component is one day old, so there is no incident history to read, the Free tier is excluded, and openai.com refused our reader, so the terms and privacy policy were not read.\n\n**Vocily AI.** The REST API is documented in detail for a product a few months old, with an OpenAPI 3.1 file, required idempotency keys on calls, a Retry-After header on 429 and signed webhooks. No status page, SLA, SDK or security programme was found, and two releases in September 2026 removed fields under `/v1` on the day they were announced.\n\n## Before you call either\n\n### GPT-Live\n\n1. Create sessions on a server with the project API key. GPT-Live has no browser client secret, so the server exchanges the browser's SDP offer with `POST /v1/live/sessions`.\n2. Choose `delegation.type` at creation. Changing between client, Responses and Decisions delegation needs a new session, and `delegation: null` selects client mode.\n3. After `session.started`, listen for `error` with code `responses_validation_failed`. Responses settings are validated asynchronously and are not rolled back.\n4. Do not retry an outbound SIP `POST /v1/live/sessions` after a timeout. Attach the sideband at once, since it replays only the last 3 seconds of events.\n5. Keep the transport open until `session.closed` to read the final `usage.seconds`. A WebRTC session bills 15 seconds at creation, credited once it runs.\n\n### Vocily AI\n\n1. Send a fresh UUID in `Idempotency-Key` on every `POST /v1/calls`. The API refuses the request without it\n2. Pass a `from_number` the workspace holds. The shared Test Number returns 403 from the API\n3. Publish a version and make it live before placing a call, or the call returns 409 `agent_not_published`\n4. Branch on `detail.code`, falling back to the top-level `code`. A 429 body is flat, so read `Retry-After`\n5. Read `currency` on every call and chat record. Costs are in rupees or dollars depending on the organisation\n\n## Questions\n\n### Which is better for AI agents, GPT-Live or Vocily AI?\n\nGPT-Live scores 66.8 (B) on agent readiness against Vocily AI's 53.8 (D), and leads in 4 of 7 scored categories. Vocily AI leads on agent ergonomics and payments \u0026 pricing.\n\n### Do GPT-Live and Vocily AI need an API key?\n\nBoth need an API key.\n\n### Can an agent call GPT-Live and Vocily AI without installing anything?\n\nYes. GPT-Live has a hosted endpoint at https://api.openai.com/v1/live/sessions and Vocily AI at https://api.vocily.ai.\n\n\n## For agents\n\n- This comparison as JSON: https://www.anchorterminal.com/compare/gpt-live-vs-vocily.json, and with the fewest tokens: https://www.anchorterminal.com/compare/gpt-live-vs-vocily.min.md\n- Over MCP at https://www.anchorterminal.com/mcp (no key): `compare_tools {\"a\": \"gpt-live\", \"b\": \"vocily\"}`.
