The protected resource lists the scopes `agent.sessions:read`, `agent.sessions:write` and `offline_access`. The connection works in the account's default team, or the team named in an `X-Functionize-Team-Id` header, checked on every request (403 if not a member). It uses OAuth with read and write scopes and has a no-card free plan. Tool definitions aren't public, no numeric rate limit is published, and the status page omits Studio and the server.\n\n**Hyperbrowser.** Sessions, Fetch and Search can be bought by x402 at api.hyperbrowser.ai with USDC on Base or Solana and no account, and unit prices are public. The official MCP server was last published in April 2025, no request rate limits or SLA are published, and the privacy notice covers only the website.\n\n## Before you call either\n\n### Functionize MCP server\n\n1. Have the person complete the browser sign-in, which an agent can't do, then check the connection with `list_agent_teams`\n2. Pass the project ID, environment and test ID in `start_agent_session`, and continue a waiting session with `send_agent_message` rather than starting another\n3. Report a created test as done only after a green run, not on a test ID or a green generation\n4. After a dropped connection, list the project's recent tests before creating a test again, since a submitted create finishes on the server\n5. Send the `X-Functionize-Team-Id` header to pin a team, and keep credentials in masked Studio variables, never in prompts\n\n### Hyperbrowser\n\n1. With a wallet and no key, POST to https://api.hyperbrowser.ai/x402/session and read the `PAYMENT-REQUIRED` header. Sessions are prepaid for 5 to 60 minutes with no refund\n2. Save the x402 creation response. It holds the only copy of the connection tokens, and `managementToken` is what stops the session\n3. Stop sessions explicitly in cleanup code. Browser time bills per second until the timeout\n4. Use Fetch at $0.001 a page for static pages and keep browser sessions for pages that need interaction\n5. Add `\u0026keepAlive=true` to `wsEndpoint` to reconnect after a CDP disconnect. Treat that URL as a secret because it carries the session token\n\n## Questions\n\n### Which is better for AI agents, Functionize MCP server or Hyperbrowser?\n\nHyperbrowser scores 66.9 (B) on agent readiness against Functionize MCP server's 44.7 (E), and leads in 6 of 7 scored categories. Functionize MCP server leads on security \u0026 auth.\n\n### Do Functionize MCP server and Hyperbrowser need an API key?\n\nFunctionize MCP server uses an OAuth sign-in. Hyperbrowser takes an API key or an OAuth sign-in. An agent can also pay Hyperbrowser per call over x402, with no account.\n\n### Can an agent call Functionize MCP server and Hyperbrowser without installing anything?\n\nYes. Functionize MCP server has a hosted endpoint at https://mcp.functionize.com/mcp and Hyperbrowser at https://api.hyperbrowser.ai.\n\n\n## For agents\n\n- This comparison as JSON: https://www.anchorterminal.com/compare/functionize-mcp-vs-hyperbrowser.json, and with the fewest tokens: https://www.anchorterminal.com/compare/functionize-mcp-vs-hyperbrowser.min.md\n- Over MCP at https://www.anchorterminal.com/mcp (no key): `compare_tools {\"a\": \"functionize-mcp\", \"b\": \"hyperbrowser\"}`.
