The status page records three critical and several major incidents on the cloud agent between 22 July and 24 September 2026, and no rate limit figures or retry guidance were found in the reviewed documentation.\n\n**Jules.** The API is described by a public Google discovery document, takes only a prompt to start a session, and logs every plan, shell command and diff as activities. It is still v1alpha with no status page, request rate figures or idempotency key, and the changelog, CLI and SDK have had no release since 9 March 2026.\n\n## Before you call either\n\n### Devin\n\n1. Use a `cog_` service-user key with the Member role. Legacy `apk_` keys fail against v3 and the MCP server with 401 or 403\n2. Set `max_acu_limit` on every session you create. Usage is metered by the work done and has no published unit rate\n3. Session creation is not idempotent in v3. After a timeout, list sessions by tag before creating again\n4. Enterprise keys and personal access tokens must send `X-Org-Id` to the MCP server. Organisation-scoped keys resolve it automatically\n5. Create scheduled work as an automation. POST to the schedules endpoint returns 403 for migrated organisations since 24 September 2026\n\n### Jules\n\n1. Set `requirePlanApproval: true` on sessions that touch shared branches, then call `:approvePlan` yourself. API sessions otherwise run their plan without review\n2. Session creation has no request ID. After a timeout, list sessions and match the prompt or title before creating another\n3. Poll activities with a `create_time` filter and cache them. Activities never change once written\n4. Read the request fields from the discovery document at https://jules.googleapis.com/$discovery/rest?version=v1alpha. The field tables on jules.google render empty\n5. Budget against the daily task quota of 15, 100 or 300 by plan. New sessions are refused until the rolling 24 hours reset\n\n## Questions\n\n### Which is better for AI agents, Devin or Jules?\n\nDevin scores 55.7 (C) on agent readiness against Jules's 44.5 (E), and leads in 5 of 7 scored categories. Jules leads on payments \u0026 pricing.\n\n\n## For agents\n\n- This comparison as JSON: https://www.anchorterminal.com/compare/devin-vs-jules.json, and with the fewest tokens: https://www.anchorterminal.com/compare/devin-vs-jules.min.md\n- Over MCP at https://www.anchorterminal.com/mcp (no key): `compare_tools {\"a\": \"devin\", \"b\": \"jules\"}`.
