A known-issues page lists 25 entries with a status each, three of them fixed on main (5). Changesets write a changelog entry per release, and removals and the 0.2.0 database reset are called out, though breaking changes arrive in minor versions before 1.0 (12). Version 0.5.0, and SECURITY.md says pre-1.0 (0).",

No Retry-After or backoff guidance found, and v3 session creation has no idempotency key, although the legacy v1 API had one (0). The platform terms supply the service as is with no service level, and enterprise terms weren't read (0). Circuit breakers stop task-runner runs after more than 30 tool calls or 200,000 tokens a minute, and team chat caps hand-offs at 8 a turn and three levels. Budgets warn only unless set to a hard cap, and a hard cap stops most runs only between runs (14). REST errors use one `{error}` shape, refused MCP calls return `denied:` with a reason prefix, and 429s carry `Retry-After` (16). `claim_task` and `assign_task` are atomic, illegal status changes are refused by name, the board survives restarts and routines resume after failure. Read with the self-hosted rule. Free under MIT with nothing to buy (20). No card and no Clawboo account (20). One `npx` command installs and starts it with no sign-up (20). Model costs belong to the providers the owner connects.\n- Devin (20): Published rubric. No payment protocol (0). Plan prices are public, $20, $200 and $40 a seat with an $80 team minimum, but usage past the quota is billed at an unpublished rate (10). A Free plan exists. The pricing page lists cloud agents from Pro upward, and we couldn't confirm API use on Free or whether a card is needed (10). A person signs up in a browser and provisions the service user in settings (0).\n\n### Reliability: Clawboo +22\n\n- Clawboo (52): Read as local software. The official npm package `clawboo` states Node.js 22.12 or newer, and the README says macOS, Linux and Windows are supported (20). `ci.yml` runs lint, typecheck, Vitest and a real-concurrency suite on Linux and platform suites on Windows and macOS, and `publish.yml` reruns build, lint, typecheck, tests and a clean-install boot before it publishes. 0.5.0 carries provenance from that workflow on main, so its checks passed at that commit, but run results on main couldn't be read (15). github.com was unreachable, so open crash and regression issues are unchecked. A known-issues page lists 25 entries with a status each, three of them fixed on main (5). Changesets write a changelog entry per release, and removals and the 0.2.0 database reset are called out, though breaking changes arrive in minor versions before 1.0 (12). Version 0.5.0, and SECURITY.md says pre-1.0 (0).\n- Devin (30): Hosted reading. Status page at www.devinstatus.com with 14 components and incident history (20). In the 90 days to 8 October 2026 it lists three critical incidents (22 July, 43 minutes of platform-wide queuing, 13 August, Devin Cloud unavailable for 2 hours 40 minutes, 24 September, the web app down for 2 hours) and six major ones on session start-up, so several majors (0). 429 is a documented response, but no rate limit figures were found (0). No Retry-After or backoff guidance found, and v3 session creation has no idempotency key, although the legacy v1 API had one (0). The platform terms supply the service as is with no service level, and enterprise terms weren't read (0). The v3 API is the current, recommended surface, with 44 of 239 operations marked beta under /v3beta1 (10).\n\n### Agent ergonomics: Clawboo +13\n\n- Clawboo (75): Harness reading, scored on what an agent or pipeline driving it has to supply. Four MCP servers keep tool lists small (12 Tasks tools, 4 Memory tools, 2 or 3 TeamChat tools, and Tools with four demonstration builtins plus granted connectors), Clawboo Native gets a read-only Tasks subset, and Tools results over 16 KiB are trimmed with a handle to read the rest (22). No MCP tool annotations are documented (14). One `npx` command and a provider key or a local Ollama, but Claude Code teammates need a global install with the Agent SDK, and there is no client SDK (9).\n- Devin (62): API and MCP reading. The MCP server documents 13 tools, several of them consolidated manage tools, and list endpoints take `first` to size a page (17). Cursor pagination on every v3 list endpoint and filters on session search by tag, playbook, origin, user and time (18). problem+json with `error_code`, field-level errors on 422 and a 400 that lists valid platform names, but no published code list (15). No idempotency key on v3 session creation. `max_acu_limit` caps what a session can spend, and the MCP tool annotations couldn't be read without a key (4). Only `prompt` is required to start a session. No official SDK found, only a Terraform provider (8).\n\n### Maintenance \u0026 community: Devin +12\n\n- Clawboo (51): 0.5.0 was published to npm on 21 October 2026 (30). Two releases in the 90 days to 1 November 2026, 0.4.0 on 28 September and 0.5.0, below the three the line asks for (0). github.com was unreachable, so replies to issues, pull requests and Discussions are unchecked. The CI file cites issue #140 as fixed (3). One public npm package, current, with no entry in the official MCP registry for its four servers (10). CI, CodeQL, weekly Dependabot and SLSA provenance on 0.4.0 and 0.5.0, with `@composio/client` pinned to an alpha (8).\n- Devin (63): Closed service. Newest release note dated 7 October 2026 (30). Nineteen dated release notes between 7 August and 7 October 2026, and API notes for August and September (20). Public release notes and a support address, with no public tracker or forum found (10). No official SDK found and the Devin MCP server didn't appear in a search of the official MCP registry (0). No public CI or packages to assess, with the docs and three OpenAPI specs kept current (3).\n\n### Transparency \u0026 trust: Devin +12\n\n- Clawboo (58): MIT, Copyright 2026 Sanreds, with a third-party notices file (30). The docs list every file Clawboo writes, which copies of keys are encrypted and which are plain text, retention for stored tool results (7 days) and pending approvals (24 hours), and that prompts go only to connected providers. There is no privacy statement, and the website wasn't read (22). The 0.1.x line is deprecated on npm with a note in the changelog, and removals are dated in release notes, with no written deprecation policy or notice period (10). No telemetry, with the server's own outbound requests disclosed, though the npm update check has no setting (18).\n- Devin (70): Editorial half. Closed source with clear terms from Cognition AI, Inc. (15). Terms, privacy policy, security page and data processing agreement agree with each other. Customer data may be used for model training by default on self-serve plans, with an opt-out on paid plans that also turns on zero data retention at model providers. Retention is stated as the length of the customer relationship, with no periods (18). Dated notices for the schedules endpoints (announced 10 September, creation refused from 24 September 2026) and the v2 clone endpoint, but no deprecation policy and no end date for v1 and v2 (10). Sub-processors listed with purpose and country, and 15 days' notice of additions (18).\n\n## Score by category\n\n| Category | Weight | Clawboo | Devin | Edge |\n| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |\n| Reliability | 16% (20 this run) | 52 | 30 | Clawboo +22 |\n| Performance | 10%, pending | pending | pending | not scored in this run |\n| Schema \u0026 documentation | 13% (16.2 this run) | 83 | 80 | Clawboo +3 |\n| Agent ergonomics | 13% (16.2 this run) | 75 | 62 | Clawboo +13 |\n| Security \u0026 auth | 14% (17.5 this run) | 70 | 72 | Devin +2 |\n| Payments \u0026 pricing | 10% (12.5 this run) | 60 | 20 | Clawboo +40 |\n| Task success | 10%, pending | pending | pending | not scored in this run |\n| Maintenance \u0026 community | 7% (8.8 this run) | 51 | 63 | Devin +12 |\n| Transparency \u0026 trust | 7% (8.8 this run) | 58 | 70 | Devin +12 |\n| Negative events | ≤15 | -4 | 0 | |\n| **Total** | | **61.4 · C** | **55.8 · C** | |\n\n## Facts side by side\n\n| Fact | Clawboo | Devin |\n| --- | --- | --- |\n| Kind | Agent harness | Agent harness |\n| Vendor | Sanreds | Cognition AI, Inc. |\n| Hosted endpoint | no (local only) | `https://mcp.devin.ai/mcp` |\n| Transports | | HTTP |\n| Auth | None | API key |\n| Pricing | Free | Freemium |\n| x402 | no | no |\n| Licence | MIT | Proprietary service under Cognition's Platform Terms of Service |\n| Tools exposed | none | 13 |\n| Read-only variant documented | no | yes |\n| llms.txt | yes | yes |\n| Last release | 2026-10-21 | 2026-10-07 |\n| Terms last updated | no document linked | 2026-06-30 |\n| Privacy policy last updated | no document linked | 2026-03-09 |\n| Customer content may train models | not read yet | yes, with an opt-out |\n| Terms restrict automated access | not read yet | not found in the text |\n| Terms restrict benchmarking | not read yet | yes |\n| Terms or service can change without notice | not read yet | not found in the text |\n| Arbitration or class-action waiver | not read yet | yes |\n| Popularity | 100 npm/wk | none |\n\n## How the scores have moved\n\n### Clawboo\n\nNo score change since it was listed.\n\n### Devin\n\n- +0.1 on 28 October 2026: checklist\n\n## Verdicts\n\n**Clawboo.** Tasks, memory, team chat and connectors are shared across five runtimes through four MCP servers, with documentation that states each default and limit. Claude Code, Codex and Hermes run with their sandboxes and approval prompts off and no setting to change it, and a reverse-proxy exposure of the MCP servers is fixed only on the unreleased main branch.\n\n**Devin.** The v3 API is well specified, with a public OpenAPI 3.1 file covering 239 operations, problem+json errors, cursor pagination and service-user keys tied to roles. The status page records three critical and several major incidents on the cloud agent between 22 July and 24 September 2026, and no rate limit figures or retry guidance were found in the reviewed documentation.\n\n## Before you call either\n\n### Clawboo\n\n1. Run `npx clawboo@latest`, not a bare `npx clawboo`, which can reuse an older cached build. Node.js 22.12 or newer is required\n2. On 0.5.0 behind nginx, Caddy or a Cloudflare Tunnel, deny `/api/mcp/` at the proxy and set `STUDIO_ACCESS_TOKEN` from `openssl rand -hex 24`\n3. Give Claude Code, Codex and Hermes teammates only work you would let run unattended, or run Clawboo under a separate user account or VM\n4. Create a hard-cap budget in Settings \u003e Insights \u003e Governance before long runs. A fresh install has no budget and new budgets only warn\n5. Install `@anthropic-ai/claude-agent-sdk` globally beside Clawboo for Claude Code teammates. A one-off `npx` run cannot load it\n\n### Devin\n\n1. Use a `cog_` service-user key with the Member role. Legacy `apk_` keys fail against v3 and the MCP server with 401 or 403\n2. Set `max_acu_limit` on every session you create. Usage is metered by the work done and has no published unit rate\n3.
