Ahead on: - Reliability, 87 against 40 - Payments & pricing, 90 against 42 - Transparency & trust, 65 against 54 Also in its favour: - Agent-ready, a grade of BB or better - An agent can pay per call over x402, with no account - Runs on your own machine Watch for: The privacy policy says inputs are used to train Browser Use's AI models, with no opt-out described outside Enterprise zero data retention ### Pomerado (B) Good for: An agent that repeats the same task on consumer sites or portals, such as flight searches, carts or order history, and wants a typed call instead of driving a browser. Ahead on: - Agent ergonomics, 83 against 78 Watch for: First released on 5 October 2026, with a team of two per its YC profile ## Score by category | Category | Weight | Browser Use | Pomerado | Edge | | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Reliability | 16% (20 this run) | 87 | 40 | Browser Use +47 | | Performance | 10%, pending | pending | pending | not scored in this run | | Schema & documentation | 13% (16.2 this run) | 86 | 86 | even | | Agent ergonomics | 13% (16.2 this run) | 78 | 83 | Pomerado +5 | | Security & auth | 14% (17.5 this run) | 69 | 69 | even | | Payments & pricing | 10% (12.5 this run) | 90 | 42 | Browser Use +48 | | Task success | 10%, pending | pending | pending | not scored in this run | | Maintenance & community | 7% (8.8 this run) | 82 | 81 | Browser Use +1 | | Transparency & trust | 7% (8.8 this run) | 65 | 54 | Browser Use +11 | | Negative events | ≤15 | 0 | -2 | | | **Total** | | **80.2 · A** | **62.6 · B** | | ## Facts side by side | Fact | Browser Use | Pomerado | | --- | --- | --- | | Kind | HTTP API | MCP server | | Vendor | Browser Use | Pomerado AI, Inc. | | Hosted endpoint | `https://api.browser-use.com/api/v4` | `https://mcp.pomerado.ai/mcp` | | Transports | HTTP, Streamable HTTP, stdio | HTTP | | Auth | API key | OAuth or key | | Pricing | Pay per use | Freemium | | x402 | yes | no | | Licence | MIT for the open-source library and the SDK. Pomerado is 12 days old, with no status page or security.txt, and its homepage lists bank and government portals that its builds refuse. ## Before you call either ### Browser Use 1. Send the key as `X-Browser-Use-API-Key` with no Bearer prefix on the REST API, where a Bearer header returns 401. The MCP server takes `Authorization: Bearer` 2. Stop browsers with `PATCH /api/v4/browsers/{id}` and `{"action":"stop"}`. Closing CDP or the SDK client leaves the browser billing 3. Poll `GET /runs/{id}/status`, not the full run, and wait for the returned Retry-After on 429, which can be 300 seconds at the edge 4. Before resubmitting after a timeout, read the existing run's status. The server keeps running and may already have submitted a form 5. With a wallet and no key, call x402.api.browser-use.com on `/api/v2` or `/api/v3` routes, since x402 doesn't take V4 yet. A task stops with INSUFFICIENT_CREDITS if credit runs out ### Pomerado 1. Try public read-only tools at https://mcp.pomerado.ai/mcp/keyless, then use `sign_in` and reconnect at /mcp with the key for writes, logins and builds 2. Call `find_website_tool` with a query and `site_url`, and check `possible_matches` before starting a build 3. Send an `idempotency_key` with every run that writes, and on `outcome_unknown` read the website back before calling again 4. Give the person the job's `answer_url` for website logins and codes. Don't take passwords in chat 5. Save a run's result when it arrives. It is returned once and erased after 60 minutes if unread ## Questions ### Which is better for AI agents, Browser Use or Pomerado?
