Ahead on: - Reliability, 87 against 58 - Schema & documentation, 85 against 74 - Payments & pricing, 90 against 40 Also in its favour: - Agent-ready, a grade of BB or better - An agent can pay per call over x402, with no account - Runs on your own machine - Open source Watch for: The privacy policy says inputs are used to train Browser Use's AI models, with no opt-out described outside Enterprise zero data retention ### Notte (B) Good for: Teams that want hosted browsers together with agents, vaults for logins, personas with mailboxes and scheduled browser functions behind one key. Ahead on: - Maintenance & community, 83 against 77 Watch for: status.notte.cc shows the Scrape API down on 15 of 90 days (about 6 hours in total) and CAPTCHA solving at 88.9 per cent availability ## Score by category | Category | Weight | Browser Use | Notte | Edge | | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Reliability | 16% (20 this run) | 87 | 58 | Browser Use +29 | | Performance | 10%, pending | pending | pending | not scored in this run | | Schema & documentation | 13% (16.2 this run) | 85 | 74 | Browser Use +11 | | Agent ergonomics | 13% (16.2 this run) | 78 | 75 | Browser Use +3 | | Security & auth | 14% (17.5 this run) | 59 | 56 | Browser Use +3 | | Payments & pricing | 10% (12.5 this run) | 90 | 40 | Browser Use +50 | | Task success | 10%, pending | pending | pending | not scored in this run | | Maintenance & community | 7% (8.8 this run) | 77 | 83 | Notte +6 | | Transparency & trust | 7% (8.8 this run) | 65 | 61 | Browser Use +4 | | Negative events | ≤15 | 0 | 0 | | | **Total** | | **77.9 · BB** | **63.2 · B** | | ## Facts side by side | Fact | Browser Use | Notte | | --- | --- | --- | | Kind | HTTP API | HTTP API | | Vendor | Browser Use | Notte Labs Inc. | | Hosted endpoint | `https://api.browser-use.com/api/v4` | `https://api.notte.cc` | | Transports | HTTP, Streamable HTTP, stdio | HTTP | | Auth | API key | OAuth or key | | Pricing | Pay per use | Freemium | | x402 | yes | no | | Licence | MIT for the open-source library and the SDK. The privacy policy says inputs are used to train Browser Use's models, API keys have no documented scopes, and no prompt-injection guidance was found in the docs. **Notte.** Notte publishes an OpenAPI 3.1 contract for 100 operations, a hosted MCP server with eight tools and OAuth, and a free plan with $10 of credits and no card. Its status page records about six hours of Scrape API downtime in 90 days, and a bot check blocked our read of the terms and privacy policy. ## Before you call either ### Browser Use 1. Send the key as `X-Browser-Use-API-Key` with no Bearer prefix. A Bearer header returns 401 2. Stop browsers with `PATCH /api/v4/browsers/{id}` and `{"action":"stop"}`. Closing CDP or the SDK client leaves the browser billing 3. Poll `GET /runs/{id}/status`, not the full run, and wait for the returned Retry-After on 429, which can be 300 seconds at the edge 4. Before resubmitting after a timeout, read the existing run's status. The server keeps running and may already have submitted a form 5. With a wallet and no key, call x402.api.browser-use.com on `/api/v2` or `/api/v3` routes. A task stops with INSUFFICIENT_CREDITS if credit runs out mid-run ### Notte 1. Send `Authorization: Bearer $NOTTE_API_KEY` to https://api.notte.cc. A person creates the key in the console at console.notte.cc first 2. Stop every session when the task ends. Sessions close after 3 idle minutes or 15 minutes in total by default, and the Free plan caps a session at 15 minutes 3. Use https://api.notte.cc/mcp for browser work. Function and agent administration tools are only on https://api.notte.cc/mcp/full 4. Back off on 429 and on 529, which means the cluster has too many sessions. The SDKs do not retry rate limits for you 5. Download session replays within 24 hours. The recordings page says they are deleted after that ## Questions ### Which is better for AI agents, Browser Use or Notte?
