An open connection keeps the sandbox active and billed\n2. Set a TTL or idle expiry on throwaway sandboxes. The default is to keep them\n3. Set `forbiddenDomains` or an allow list at creation, with `network.firewall` for tools that ignore proxy settings. Both can only be set when the sandbox is created\n4. Retry only on WORKLOAD_UNAVAILABLE. The error reference says other codes won't succeed on retry\n5. Connect to `\u003csandbox URL\u003e/mcp` with your API key instead of wrapping the REST API in tools yourself\n\n### Modal Sandboxes\n\n1. Pass `timeout=` when you create a sandbox. The default lifetime is 5 minutes\n2. Set `block_network=True` or a `cidr_allowlist` for untrusted code\n3. Give a sandbox a `name` so a retried create raises `AlreadyExistsError` instead of starting a second one\n4. Snapshot the filesystem before the 24-hour limit and start a fresh sandbox from it\n5. Catch `ResourceExhaustedError` from `Sandbox.create()` on SDK 1.6.0 and later\n\n## Other comparisons with Blaxel Sandboxes or Modal Sandboxes\n\n- [Blaxel Sandboxes vs Cloudflare Sandbox SDK](https://www.anchorterminal.com/compare/blaxel-sandboxes-vs-cloudflare-sandbox-sdk.md)\n- [Blaxel Sandboxes vs Daytona](https://www.anchorterminal.com/compare/blaxel-sandboxes-vs-daytona.md)\n- [Blaxel Sandboxes vs E2B](https://www.anchorterminal.com/compare/blaxel-sandboxes-vs-e2b.md)\n- [Blaxel Sandboxes vs Runloop Devboxes](https://www.anchorterminal.com/compare/blaxel-sandboxes-vs-runloop.md)\n- [Blaxel Sandboxes vs Vercel Sandbox](https://www.anchorterminal.com/compare/blaxel-sandboxes-vs-vercel-sandbox.md)\n- [Cloudflare Sandbox SDK vs Modal Sandboxes](https://www.anchorterminal.com/compare/cloudflare-sandbox-sdk-vs-modal-sandboxes.md)\n- [Daytona vs Modal Sandboxes](https://www.anchorterminal.com/compare/daytona-vs-modal-sandboxes.md)\n- [E2B vs Modal Sandboxes](https://www.anchorterminal.com/compare/e2b-vs-modal-sandboxes.md)\n- [Modal Sandboxes vs Runloop Devboxes](https://www.anchorterminal.com/compare/modal-sandboxes-vs-runloop.md)\n- [Modal Sandboxes vs Vercel Sandbox](https://www.anchorterminal.com/compare/modal-sandboxes-vs-vercel-sandbox.md)\n",
