It runs on Windows only with the user's full rights, and the repository has no CI or test suite.\n\n**AutoIt.** An agent can run AutoIt scripts or single lines from the command line, or call AutoItX from C# or PowerShell, with each function's return values and `@error` codes documented. The source is closed, the last release was 7 September 2025, and scripts act with the full rights of the Windows user.\n\n## Before you call either\n\n### AutoHotkey\n\n1. Write output with `FileAppend text, \"*\"` and pipe the interpreter's output, since stdout does not appear at the console it was launched from\n2. Run `AutoHotkey64.exe /ErrorStdOut /Validate script.ahk` before running a new script\n3. Add `OnError` or `try` blocks so a runtime error does not leave a dialog open in an unattended run\n4. Target v2 syntax. v1 is unmaintained and its scripts do not run on v2\n\n### AutoIt\n\n1. Pass `/ErrorStdOut` so a fatal error reaches stdout instead of a dialog\n2. Use `ConsoleWrite` for output an agent can capture, since `MsgBox` blocks an unattended run\n3. Check `@error` after each call. Functions report failure there, not by raising\n4. Install the official package from autoitscript.com. NuGet copies of AutoItX are third-party repackages\n\n## Questions\n\n### Which is better for AI agents, AutoHotkey or AutoIt?\n\nAutoHotkey scores 52.8 (D) on agent readiness against AutoIt's 46.3 (D), and leads in 5 of 7 scored categories.
