The Tasker API page (route /tasker-api, enabled under Developer in Tasker's navigation, given a Tasker AI page title in the script tasker.ai serves) tells developers to run npx create-tasker@latest and calls Tasker open source. The npm registry answered 404 for create-tasker on 21 October 2026, so the advertised install command fails, and anyone who registers the name could take it. Precedent is Gumloop's -2 for SDK coverage its docs don't bear out. Tool schemas sit behind sign-in, the outreach scope is ticked by default, and no status page, changelog or security contact was found.\n\n**Tasker AI.** Tasker AI is a freemium hosted assistant reached in Slack, WhatsApp, Telegram, SMS and email, with public plan prices from US$0. Its API, MCP and open-source claims couldn't be confirmed on 21 October 2026. No API documentation was found, and the npm package its API page tells developers to install doesn't exist.\n\n## Before you call either\n\n### Asmi\n\n1. Use the endpoint for your own client (/mcp/claude/, /mcp/openai/ or /mcp/meta/). A token from another client gets 403.\n2. Call discover_search before execute_start, then poll execute_status with the task id instead of starting the task again.\n3. Answer Asmi's questions with execute_advance. Calls already placed can't be recalled by execute_cancel.\n4. Expect outreach_not_permitted if the owner unticked contact people. Ask them to reconnect rather than retrying.\n5. Check billing_status before starting a task, since each outreach task uses one of the month's quota.\n\n### Tasker AI\n\n1. Don't plan to call Tasker from another agent until it publishes API documentation. GET api.tasker.ai/v1/tasks returned 404.\n2. Don't run npx create-tasker@latest. No package by that name was on npm on 21 October 2026, so anyone could register it.\n3. Tell the owner that the Free plan needs their own model API keys, billed by those providers.\n\n## Questions\n\n### Which is better for AI agents, Asmi or Tasker AI?\n\nAsmi scores 33.3 (F) on agent readiness against Tasker AI's 7.6 (F), and leads in every scored category.\n\n\n## For agents\n\n- This comparison as JSON: https://www.anchorterminal.com/compare/asmi-vs-tasker-ai.json, and with the fewest tokens: https://www.anchorterminal.com/compare/asmi-vs-tasker-ai.min.md\n- Over MCP at https://www.anchorterminal.com/mcp (no key): `compare_tools {\"a\": \"asmi\", \"b\": \"tasker-ai\"}`.
