Ahead on: - Payments & pricing, 70 against 30 - Maintenance & community, 79 against 49 Also in its favour: - No key needed to call it - Free to start without a card - Open source Watch for: The buyer proxy copies a client's `Authorization` and `x-api-key` headers to the seller. The repository's March 2026 review flagged it and issue #1104 is open ### Prism Inference (C) Good for: Coding agents that want DeepSeek-V4.1-Flash at a low input price, with no retention, through whichever of the three wire formats the harness already speaks. Ahead on: - Schema & documentation, 82 against 55 - Agent ergonomics, 68 against 56 - Security & auth, 65 against 45 Also in its favour: - A hosted endpoint, with nothing to install Watch for: Two models. The docs mark Gemma 4 31B as request access per organisation, while llms.txt and the keyless catalogue list it as available ## Score by category | Category | Weight | Antseed | Prism Inference | Edge | | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Reliability | 16% (20 this run) | 62 | 65 | Prism Inference +3 | | Performance | 10%, pending | pending | pending | not scored in this run | | Schema & documentation | 13% (16.2 this run) | 55 | 82 | Prism Inference +27 | | Agent ergonomics | 13% (16.2 this run) | 56 | 68 | Prism Inference +12 | | Security & auth | 14% (17.5 this run) | 45 | 65 | Prism Inference +20 | | Payments & pricing | 10% (12.5 this run) | 70 | 30 | Antseed +40 | | Task success | 10%, pending | pending | pending | not scored in this run | | Maintenance & community | 7% (8.8 this run) | 79 | 49 | Antseed +30 | | Transparency & trust | 7% (8.8 this run) | 59 | 61 | Prism Inference +2 | | Negative events | ≤15 | -4 | -2 | | | **Total** | | **55.1 · C** | **60.1 · C** | | ## Facts side by side | Fact | Antseed | Prism Inference | | --- | --- | --- | | Kind | Model router | Model API | | Vendor | Antseed Foundation | Prism Technologies Inc | | Hosted endpoint | no (local only) | `https://api.prisminference.com/v1` | | Transports | HTTP | HTTP | | Auth | None | API key | | Pricing | Pay per use | Pay per use | | x402 | no | no | | Licence | GPL-3.0 (LICENSE in the repository). The CLI creates a wallet key, free models answer at once and paid ones draw on deposited USDC, with seller, tokens and cost returned in response headers. Sellers are unvetted and can read prompts unless TEE-verified, the proxy forwards a client's own credential headers to them, and every package is pre-1.0. **Prism Inference.** Three wire formats, a public OpenAPI 3.1 file, per-token prices in a keyless catalogue and zero data retention by default on every tier. The service launched on 24 September 2026 with two models, one of them by request, from a two-person company. No rate-limit numbers, SLA document, free tier or deprecation policy was found. ## Before you call either ### Antseed 1. Send a placeholder key such as `antseed-p2p`. The proxy forwards whatever `Authorization` or `x-api-key` header the client sends to the seller 2. Call `GET /v1/models` first and request a concrete id. The `antseed` alias works only when the desktop app has a model selected 3. Handle 402 `insufficient_deposits` by reading `suggestedAmount`, then fund the address from `antseed buyer deposit` with USDC on Base 4. Pass `--verifiers antseed-verifier --require-verifier` to `antseed buyer start` when prompts are private, so only TEE-verified sellers are routed 5. Read `x-antseed-peer-id` and `x-antseed-estimated-cost-usd` on each response, and pin a seller with `@` when the same one must answer ### Prism Inference 1. Call `GET https://api.prisminference.com/v1/models` at start-up, with no key, and use only ids it returns. Expect 403 on `gemma-4-31b` without organisation access 2. Use base URL `https://api.prisminference.com/v1` for OpenAI clients and `https://api.prisminference.com` with no `/v1` for Anthropic clients 3. Read `error.retryable` before retrying, and wait for `Retry-After` on 429, which covers both key limits and model capacity 4. Send `reasoning_effort: "none"` or `low` when latency matters. Reasoning is on by default and its tokens are billed as output 5. Keep conversation state yourself and send `store: false` on Responses. `previous_response_id`, stored responses and hosted tools aren't supported ## Questions ### Which is better for AI agents, Antseed or Prism Inference?
