No other Bedrock event appears in the history in the 90 days to 6 November; an EU-SOUTH-2 packet-loss event on 4 October named Bedrock AgentCore, not Bedrock. This counts as one major event (10). StatusGator's third-party mirror shows 'Increased Error Rates' warnings on 24, 26 and 27 August and 10 September that we couldn't find in AWS's own history, so we didn't score them. Per-model token quotas with default values in the AWS General Reference, such as 30,000,000 tokens a minute for Opus 5.5 global inference (15). A written lifecycle policy with Legacy and EOL dates per model, but the legacy table's 34-day Legacy periods for five Claude models in some Regions contradict its own 6-month floor (15 of 20, down from 18). Structured outputs on supported models only (13 of 15). Explicit and implicit prompt caching, cache reads at $0.20 per million on Opus 5.5, 0.05x input, with 5-minute and 1-hour TTLs (15). 1M-token context on Opus 5.5, Sonnet 5.5 and Nova 2 Lite, a judgement call since Bedrock has no default model (15). Batch at half price on supported models, but the pricing page shows none for Opus 5.5 or Sonnet 5.5, while Flex is half price on Nova (7 of 10). AWS SDKs in every major language plus token generators for Python, JavaScript and Java (10). Typed errors with recovery advice per code (15).\n- Simplismart (17): Model reading of the checklist (tool use, structured output, caching, context, batch, SDKs, errors). The LiveKit guide calls the LLM API fully OpenAI-compatible, but no page documents tools or tool_choice, and the OpenAPI files allow only system, user and assistant roles (3 of 20). No structured-output or JSON mode documented (0 of 15). No prompt caching documented for shared endpoints (0 of 15). Context lengths are not stated per model; output is capped at 4,096 tokens in the API files (3 of 15). No batch API for shared endpoints (0 of 10). Inference goes through the OpenAI client; the simplismart-sdk Python package and CLI manage repositories and deployments, not inference, and a community Pipecat package exists (5 of 10). Expired keys return a documented 401, and the SDK exposes status_code, message and payload, but no error codes or bodies are listed for the inference API (6 of 15). 3+0+0+3+0+5+6 = 17.\n\n### Reliability: Amazon Bedrock +65\n\n- Amazon Bedrock (80): AWS Health Dashboard with per-service, per-Region feeds and a public history file (20). The history lists Amazon Bedrock as disrupted in ME-CENTRAL-1 (UAE) and ME-SOUTH-1 (Bahrain) since March 2026, where AWS said on 15 September 2026 (still inside the 90-day window on 6 November) that it can't restore resources held only there. The error guide gives exponential backoff with jitter for 429, 503 and 529 and says to honour `Retry-After`, and the SDKs retry ModelNotReadyException up to five times (15). SLA of 99.9 per cent a month per Region for the model APIs, last updated 4 October 2023 (10). Converse and the current Claude, GPT-6 and Nova 2 Lite models are GA (10).\n- Simplismart (15): Hosted reading. No status page found. The docs and site link none, a search found none, and status.simplismart.ai could not be reached from our network (0). No readable incident history (5). No request or token rate limits are published for shared endpoints. The docs give GPU quotas for training, compilation and private deployments only, 1 H100 and 1 L40 on the Quotas page and 8 of each on the Organisation page (0). No 429 response, Retry-After header or retry guidance found; the OpenAPI files list only 400, 401 and 500 (0). No SLA document found. The homepage claims 99.99% uptime and a Simplismart post calls its autoscaling SLA-backed, but no terms state a commitment, and the terms provide the service as is (0). Shared endpoints carry no beta label, while Muse Spark Open is in beta (10). 0+5+0+0+0+10 = 15.\n\n### Security \u0026 auth: Amazon Bedrock +63\n\n- Amazon Bedrock (98): Model reading. IAM with SigV4, roles and STS session credentials, policies down to a model or inference-profile ARN, short-term API keys that expire within 12 hours, long-term keys with expiry and reset, and condition keys that can deny bearer tokens altogether (30). The security page says customer data isn't shared with model providers or used to improve the base models (20). The abuse detection page says Bedrock stores no inputs or outputs by default, and a per-Region `none` mode blocks models that require retention, but Claude Fable 5 and 5.1 keep all traffic up to 30 days and GPT-6 and GPT-5.x keep flagged traffic up to 30 days (13 of 15, a judgement call; Anthropic's own API got 12 for the same Fable exception without an account-level block). CloudTrail logs API calls, and model invocation logging can send prompts and responses to S3 or CloudWatch Logs (15). Bedrock is in ISO, SOC and CSA STAR Level 2 scope, HIPAA eligible and FedRAMP High in GovCloud (US-West) per its security page, with a vulnerability disclosure programme on HackerOne, and the aws.amazon.com security.txt, expired on 6 October, was renewed with Expires 2027-10-16 when read on 6 November (20). Up from 96 on 6 October for that reason.\n- Simplismart (35): Model reading. Named Bearer keys with an expiry chosen at creation, a 401 after expiry and immediate deletion. No scopes or per-key limits found, keys belong to the organisation, and the SDK uses a separate Playground token (20 of 30). No statement on training on API data in the terms, the privacy policy, the AI policy or the docs (0 of 20). No retention or zero-retention statement for prompts and outputs. The privacy policy covers the website only (0 of 15). The Usage page shows request counts and a per-request timeline per model, and an LLM metrics call returns token counts and timings per request id. A Simplismart article claims exportable audit trails, not documented (8 of 15). The homepage shows GDPR, ISO 27001 v2022 and AICPA SOC 2 badges, and a Simplismart article says it holds a SOC 2 Type 2 report, available on request. No trust centre was reachable, security.txt answered 404, and no disclosure policy or bug bounty was found (7 of 20). 20+0+0+8+7 = 35.\n\n### Transparency \u0026 trust: Amazon Bedrock +56\n\n- Amazon Bedrock (85): Closed service under the AWS Customer Agreement and Service Terms, with the SDKs and Smithy models under Apache-2.0 (18, as for S3). The data retention, abuse detection and security pages agree that Bedrock stores nothing by default, name the models that retain traffic and for how long, and say retained data isn't shared with providers. The retention page's `default` mode says AWS 'may retain the data for safety and abuse-prevention purposes' without a period, and a legacy `provider_data_share` mode is kept though sharing isn't supported (25 of 30). A written lifecycle policy with Legacy and EOL dates per model, but the legacy table's 34-day Legacy periods for five Claude models in some Regions contradict its own 6-month floor (15 of 20, down from 18). AWS's sub-processor list, per the 4 October S3 check, and per-Region, geographic and global inference options, with global routing able to process data in any commercial Region (18 of 20).\n- Simplismart (29): Closed service. The terms, last updated 13 January 2023, name Verute Technologies Private Limited and Indian law but define the Service as the website, grant Simplismart a licence to use and redistribute posted Content, bar robots and automatic access, and rule out refunds. No API or platform terms were found (8 of 30). The privacy policy, effective 13 January 2023, is a website policy that says personal data is processed in India. It says nothing about prompts, outputs, logs or training, and no DPA, retention period or subprocessor list was found. A Simplismart article claims GDPR and HIPAA support (3 of 30). No deprecation policy or dated removals (0 of 20). Data goes to India per the privacy policy, and an article says workloads are kept in approved regions by scheduling policy. No subprocessor or hosting-provider list (3 of 20). 8+3+0+3 = 14.\n\n### Schema \u0026 documentation: Amazon Bedrock +43\n\n- Amazon Bedrock (94): Model reading. No OpenAPI, but the bedrock-runtime and bedrock Smithy models are public in aws/api-models-aws with types, required members and enums, counted as for S3 (25). llms.txt for the user guide with about 2,000 lines, each page with a Markdown twin (10). Model cards state context, output limits, endpoints and supported functions per model, and the guide now recommends `bedrock-runtime` for new work, but support for each API, endpoint and feature changes model by model (16 of 20). Structured outputs compile JSON Schema to a grammar, with `minimum`, `maximum` and string lengths supported, though some inference profiles don't support it, such as Haiku 4.5 through the India profile (13 of 15). Every operation lists typed errors with HTTP codes and links to a troubleshooting page with causes and fixes, and examples run through the guide (15). API version 2023-09-30 and a dated document history with an RSS feed, newest entry 30 October 2026, with structured outputs for Claude on both endpoints added on 18 October (15).\n- Simplismart (51): Model reading. OpenAPI 3.1 files for seven LLMs and 3.0 or 3.1 files for Whisper, Flux, an LLM metrics call and training jobs. They cover a handful of the 150+ models, omit tools and response_format, show a streaming `delta` as the non-streaming response, and several name hosts on s9t.link instead of api.simplismart.live. The Llama 4 Maverick file gives `llama3_1` as its only model id, and /api-reference/openapi.json is the Flux spec (12 of 25). llms.txt and a Markdown copy of each docs page (10). The docs say when to use shared or dedicated endpoints; model pages carry one-line descriptions (10 of 20). Roles are enums, temperature is bounded 0 to 2, max_tokens 1 to 4096, and messages and model are required (10 of 15). curl and OpenAI-client Python examples. Errors are bare 400, 401 and 500 descriptions, plus an SDK example of a 404 payload (7 of 15). No changelog. Every spec reads version 1.0.0 (2 of 15). 12+10+10+10+7+2 = 51.\n\n### Maintenance \u0026 community: Amazon Bedrock +39\n\n- Amazon Bedrock (81): Model reading. The last model or API change is 30 October 2026 (OpenAI model API support and cross-Region inference in GovCloud), after structured outputs for Claude on both endpoints on 18 October (30). Models launched since 7 September 2026 get a 6-month or 45-day Legacy period, but the legacy page, which promises at least 6 months in Legacy, lists Claude 3 Haiku, 3 Sonnet, 3.5 Sonnet, 3.5 Sonnet v2 and 3.7 Sonnet as Legacy from 10 or 13 October with end of life on 13 November in several Regions, about 34 days (6 of 12, down from 10). Six models reached end of life in the 90 days to 6 November on five dates, Command R and R+ on 19 August, Claude 3 Haiku on 10 September, Nova Sonic on 14 September, Nova Canvas and Nova Reel on 30 September and Claude Sonnet 4 on 14 October (3 of 8, down from 4). Dated document history several times a month, What's New and re:Post, with direct support on a paid plan (12 of 15). SDK issue replies not sampled (5 of 10). Current official SDKs, boto3 1.43.125 on 5 November and `@aws-sdk/client-bedrock-runtime` 3.1163.0 (15). Supported runtimes stated, Python 3.10 or later and Node 20 or later (10). Down from 86 on 6 October.\n- Simplismart (42): Model reading for a closed service. Muse Spark Open was added in beta on 19 October 2026, and the docs sitemap shows pages changed on 7 October (30). No deprecation policy or notice period found (0 of 12). One dated model addition in the 90 days to 28 October and no recorded removals; the pricing page still lists Llama 3.1 405B and DeepSeek-R1, which the API reference doesn't cover, so the live model set is unclear (2 of 8). No public changelog or community channel. Support is support@simplismart.ai and a contact form, not tested (4 of 15). SDK issue replies not read, because github.com gave no readable robots.txt (0 of 10). simplismart-sdk for Python, documented with a CLI, and the OpenAI client for inference. No TypeScript SDK, and the PyPI page answered with a browser challenge, so the version and date are unchecked (6 of 15). CI not checked (0 of 10). 30+0+2+4+0+6+0 = 42.\n\n## Score by category\n\n| Category | Weight | Amazon Bedrock | Simplismart | Edge |\n| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |\n| Reliability | 16% (20 this run) | 80 | 15 | Amazon Bedrock +65 |\n| Performance | 10%, pending | pending | pending | not scored in this run |\n| Schema \u0026 documentation | 13% (16.2 this run) | 94 | 51 | Amazon Bedrock +43 |\n| Agent ergonomics | 13% (16.2 this run) | 92 | 17 | Amazon Bedrock +75 |\n| Security \u0026 auth | 14% (17.5 this run) | 98 | 35 | Amazon Bedrock +63 |\n| Payments \u0026 pricing | 10% (12.5 this run) | 30 | 25 | Amazon Bedrock +5 |\n| Task success | 10%, pending | pending | pending | not scored in this run |\n| Maintenance \u0026 community | 7% (8.8 this run) | 81 | 42 | Amazon Bedrock +39 |\n| Transparency \u0026 trust | 7% (8.8 this run) | 85 | 29 | Amazon Bedrock +56 |\n| Negative events | ≤15 | 0 | 0 | |\n| **Total** | | **81.7 · A** | **29.5 · F** | |\n\n## Facts side by side\n\n| Fact | Amazon Bedrock | Simplismart |\n| --- | --- | --- |\n| Kind | Model API | HTTP API |\n| Vendor | Amazon Web Services | Verute Technologies Private Limited |\n| Hosted endpoint | `https://bedrock-runtime.us-east-1.amazonaws.com` | `https://api.simplismart.live` |\n| Transports | HTTP | HTTP |\n| Auth | OAuth or key | API key |\n| Pricing | Pay per use | Pay per use |\n| x402 | no | no |\n| Licence | Proprietary service under the AWS Customer Agreement and Service Terms. Setup needs an AWS account, IAM permissions and a Region, capabilities vary by model, and some Regions gave five older Claude models about 34 days of notice.\n\n**Simplismart.** Simplismart exposes open models through an OpenAI-compatible endpoint with public per-token prices and expiring, revocable keys. Its public docs give no request rate limits, status page, retry guidance, tool-calling or structured-output reference, and its terms and privacy policy cover the website, not API data.\n\n## Before you call either\n\n### Amazon Bedrock\n\n1. Use the geographic or global inference ID from the model card, such as `global.anthropic.claude-opus-5-5`. Global routing is cheaper but can process data in any commercial Region\n2. Set `data_retention_mode` to `none` in each Region before sending sensitive data. Models that need retention then return ValidationException\n3. Back off with jitter on 429 ThrottlingException, 503 and 529 `overloaded_error`, and honour `Retry-After` when it's sent\n4. Generate short-term API keys from an IAM role for production. Long-term keys create an IAM user and AWS marks them exploration only\n5. Call ListFoundationModels in your Region and read `modelLifecycle` before pinning a model ID. Claude 3.x IDs in several Regions stop working on 13 November 2026 and requests don't redirect\n\n### Simplismart\n\n1. Point an OpenAI-compatible client at https://api.simplismart.live with SIMPLISMART_API_KEY as a Bearer token, and take model ids from the marketplace or the per-model API pages.\n2. Set a key expiry and rotate before midnight UTC on the expiry date, because an expired key returns 401.\n3. Cap retries yourself with exponential backoff, because no rate limits, 429 format or retry guidance are published.\n4. Check that a model supports tools or JSON output with a test call before relying on it, because neither is documented.\n5. Confirm the per-token price of the exact model in the console before running large jobs, because the public price list is incomplete.\n\n## Questions\n\n### Which is better for AI agents, Amazon Bedrock or Simplismart?\n\nAmazon Bedrock scores 81.7 (A) on agent readiness against Simplismart's 29.5 (F), and leads in every scored category.\n\n### Do Amazon Bedrock and Simplismart need an API key?\n\nAmazon Bedrock takes an API key or an OAuth sign-in. Simplismart needs an API key.\n\n### Can an agent call Amazon Bedrock and Simplismart without installing anything?\n\nYes. Amazon Bedrock has a hosted endpoint at https://bedrock-runtime.us-east-1.amazonaws.com and Simplismart at https://api.simplismart.live.\n\n\n## For agents\n\n- This comparison as JSON: https://www.anchorterminal.com/compare/amazon-bedrock-vs-simplismart.json, and with the fewest tokens: https://www.anchorterminal.com/compare/amazon-bedrock-vs-simplismart.min.md\n- Over MCP at https://www.anchorterminal.com/mcp (no key): `compare_tools {\"a\": \"amazon-bedrock\", \"b\": \"simplismart\"}`.
