Commit 6d2c7c13 stopped it, first released in v0.2.58 on 12 October 2026, and CHANGELOG.md marks the entry as security and tells users to rotate exposed keys. Two more released fixes marked security in CHANGELOG.md fold into the same term, a local client spending from a workspace wallet by naming its buyer identity (v0.2.61, 16 October 2026) and API-key holders reusing a request ID to skip spend accounting (v0.2.67, 22 October 2026). Bedrock is in ISO, SOC and CSA STAR Level 2 scope, HIPAA eligible and FedRAMP High in GovCloud (US-West) per its security page, with a vulnerability disclosure programme on HackerOne, and the aws.amazon.com security.txt, expired on 6 October, was renewed with Expires 2027-10-16 when read on 6 November (20). Sellers are independent, and the FAQ says a standard seller can read prompts and sets its own practices (5 of 20). No central log, and an optional TEE-verified route with attestation checked on the buyer's machine (8 of 15). Seller, token and cost headers per response, `antseed buyer metering` and a Prometheus exporter (12 of 15). The buyer proxy stopped forwarding client credentials to sellers in v0.2.58 (12 October 2026). Inference is paid through Antseed's own HTTP 402 flow with EIP-712 signatures and USDC channels on Base, which isn't one of the three protocols the rubric names (10 of 40, a judgement call). PRICING.md in the repository says seller prices per 1M tokens are published without authentication at a cached endpoint and live through `antseed network browse --json` (20); the 8 October snapshot figures came from that JSON endpoint and are struck. Free models answer with no card and no account, per the docs on 8 October (20). An agent can install the CLI, get a key generated locally and fund it by a USDC transfer, with no sign-up flow (20).
AWS Health Dashboard with per-service, per-Region feeds and a public history file (20). The history lists Amazon Bedrock as disrupted in ME-CENTRAL-1 (UAE) and ME-SOUTH-1 (Bahrain) since March 2026, where AWS said on 15 September 2026 (still inside the 90-day window on 6 November) that it can't restore resources held only there. No other Bedrock event appears in the history in the 90 days to 6 November; an EU-SOUTH-2 packet-loss event on 4 October named Bedrock AgentCore, not Bedrock. This counts as one major event (10). StatusGator's third-party mirror shows 'Increased Error Rates' warnings on 24, 26 and 27 August and 10 September that we couldn't find in AWS's own history, so we didn't score them. Per-model token quotas with default values in the AWS General Reference, such as 30,000,000 tokens a minute for Opus 5.5 global inference (15). The error guide gives exponential backoff with jitter for 429, 503 and 529 and says to honour `Retry-After`, and the SDKs retry ModelNotReadyException up to five times (15). SLA of 99.9 per cent a month per Region for the model APIs, last updated 4 October 2023 (10). Converse and the current Claude, GPT-6 and Nova 2 Lite models are GA (10).
Read with the local-software lines, since the buyer runs the proxy. Official npm package @antseed/cli with Node.js 20 or later stated, plus desktop installers (20). Public CI on main runs the unit tests, an end-to-end suite and a payment flow (ci.yml in the clone), but the run results on GitHub couldn't be read on 4 November, so 15 of 25. Open issues and pull requests per the 8 October count (74 and 32), with bug reports from late September open then and reply times not sampled (12 of 25). CHANGELOG.md calls out breaking CLI changes, but versions are 0.x patch bumps and recent entries sit under one Unreleased heading (5 of 15). Release tag v0.2.72 and CLI 0.1.220 at that tag, with no statement of stability (0). Whether a request is answered also depends on which sellers are online, which this checklist doesn't score.
Closed service under the AWS Customer Agreement and Service Terms, with the SDKs and Smithy models under Apache-2.0 (18, as for S3). The data retention, abuse detection and security pages agree that Bedrock stores nothing by default, name the models that retain traffic and for how long, and say retained data isn't shared with providers. The retention page's `default` mode says AWS 'may retain the data for safety and abuse-prevention purposes' without a period, and a legacy `provider_data_share` mode is kept though sharing isn't supported (25 of 30). A written lifecycle policy with Legacy and EOL dates per model, but the legacy table's 34-day Legacy periods for five Claude models in some Regions contradict its own 6-month floor (15 of 20, down from 18). AWS's sub-processor list, per the 4 October S3 check, and per-Region, geographic and global inference options, with global routing able to process data in any commercial Region (18 of 20).
GPL-3.0 source for the protocol, CLI, desktop app and contracts (30). The terms (last updated 9 October 2026), FAQ and privacy page agree that there is no central request log and that sellers may log prompts. There is no privacy policy document, and docs/telemetry.md says the PostHog region and retention period are still to be documented (12 of 30). No deprecation policy found. The changelog gives version cut-offs for protocol changes and a dated cutover of 10 September 2026 for staking contracts (8 of 20). Desktop telemetry is documented event by event with a toggle and an environment switch, and is keyed to the buyer's public wallet address. No telemetry code found in the CLI (16 of 20). docs/telemetry.md is unchanged since 15 September 2026 in the 4 November clone."

IAM with SigV4, roles and STS session credentials, policies down to a model or inference-profile ARN, short-term API keys that expire within 12 hours, long-term keys with expiry and reset, and condition keys that can deny bearer tokens altogether (30). The security page says customer data isn't shared with model providers or used to improve the base models (20). The abuse detection page says Bedrock stores no inputs or outputs by default, and a per-Region `none` mode blocks models that require retention, but Claude Fable 5 and 5.1 keep all traffic up to 30 days and GPT-6 and GPT-5.x keep flagged traffic up to 30 days (13 of 15, a judgement call; Anthropic's own API got 12 for the same Fable exception without an account-level block). CloudTrail logs API calls, and model invocation logging can send prompts and responses to S3 or CloudWatch Logs (15). Up from 96 on 6 October for that reason.
- Antseed (45): Model reading. The local proxy has no key and binds to 127.0.0.1. One secp256k1 key is identity and wallet, stored in plain text by the CLI unless supplied by environment variable, and encrypted by the OS keychain in the desktop app. Spending is bounded by a deposit contract, a capped ReserveAuth per seller and an optional separate withdrawal wallet, and gateway keys are hashed, revocable and spend-limited (18 of 30). No SECURITY.md in the 4 November clone; no security.txt, published advisory, bug bounty, certification or contract audit report found. The repository holds one automated review of the buyer proxy dated 8 March 2026 (2 of 20). Docs per the 8 October check, not re-read on 4 November, because the terms of 9 October 2026 bar scripts that scrape or mine data from the Offerings, which include the documentation.

### Payments & pricing: Antseed +40

- Amazon Bedrock (30): No x402, MPP or L402 (0). Per-token prices per model, tier and Region on the public pricing page, filled from AWS's public price feed (20). New accounts get up to $200 in Free Tier credits and the Free Tier page lists Bedrock among eligible services, and the Free Tier FAQ says most new customers don't need a payment method, but AWS may still ask for one, so half, as for S3 (10). A person signs up for AWS in a browser and sets up IAM before any key exists (0).
- Antseed (70): x402 v2 exists only on `POST /v1/key/topup` of a gateway the owner runs, and is off until enabled per key. The self-hosted rule gives the same three lines for the free software.

### Schema & documentation: Amazon Bedrock +39

- Amazon Bedrock (94): Model reading. No OpenAPI, but the bedrock-runtime and bedrock Smithy models are public in aws/api-models-aws with types, required members and enums, counted as for S3 (25). llms.txt for the user guide with about 2,000 lines, each page with a Markdown twin (10). Model cards state context, output limits, endpoints and supported functions per model, and the guide now recommends `bedrock-runtime` for new work, but support for each API, endpoint and feature changes model by model (16 of 20). Structured outputs compile JSON Schema to a grammar, with `minimum`, `maximum` and string lengths supported, though some inference profiles don't support it, such as Haiku 4.5 through the India profile (13 of 15). Every operation lists typed errors with HTTP codes and links to a troubleshooting page with causes and fixes, and examples run through the guide (15). API version 2023-09-30 and a dated document history with an RSS feed, newest entry 30 October 2026, with structured outputs for Claude on both endpoints added on 18 October (15).
- Antseed (55): No OpenAPI document found in the repository or docs. The proxy copies the OpenAI and Anthropic wire formats (0 of 25). llms.txt at antseed.com/llms.txt and a setup skill at /skill.md (10). The API guide states what each route is for, how routing picks a seller and when to pin one (14 of 20). Request bodies follow the upstream formats, and `/v1/models` reports context length, modalities, tool use and supported parameters per seller (8 of 15). Curl examples for each format and an error table with status, code, meaning and fix (13 of 15). A public changelog and tagged releases, with recent entries under an undated Unreleased heading (10 of 15). Docs per the 8 October check, not re-read on 4 November, because the terms of 9 October 2026 bar scripts that scrape or mine data from the Offerings, which include the documentation.

### Agent ergonomics: Amazon Bedrock +36

- Amazon Bedrock (92): Model reading of the checklist (tool use, structured output, caching, context, batch, SDKs, errors). Converse takes tools with `toolChoice` auto, any or a named tool and `strict: true`, but forced choice depends on the model behind it (17 of 20). Structured outputs on supported models only (13 of 15). Explicit and implicit prompt caching, cache reads at $0.20 per million on Opus 5.5, 0.05x input, with 5-minute and 1-hour TTLs (15). 1M-token context on Opus 5.5, Sonnet 5.5 and Nova 2 Lite, a judgement call since Bedrock has no default model (15). Batch at half price on supported models, but the pricing page shows none for Opus 5.5 or Sonnet 5.5, while Flex is half price on Nova (7 of 10). AWS SDKs in every major language plus token generators for Python, JavaScript and Java (10). Typed errors with recovery advice per code (15).
- Antseed (56): Model reading, as for other routers. Tool use and structured output depend on the seller, and the model list reports both per seller with conservative model-level values (12 of 20 and 8 of 15). Cached-input pricing is advertised per seller where supported (8 of 15). Context length is reported per model as the lowest value across sellers (10 of 15). No batch route found (0 of 10). No SDK of its own for buyers. OpenAI and Anthropic SDKs work against the proxy, and wrappers launch Claude Code, Codex and OpenCode (5 of 10). Documented error codes with fixes, and cost and seller headers on non-streaming responses (13 of 15). Docs per the 8 October check, not re-read on 4 November, because the terms of 9 October 2026 bar scripts that scrape or mine data from the Offerings, which include the documentation.

### Reliability: Amazon Bedrock +28

- Amazon Bedrock (80): AWS Health Dashboard with per-service, per-Region feeds and a public history file (20).
- Antseed (52): Read with the local-software lines, since the buyer runs the proxy.

### Transparency & trust: Amazon Bedrock +26

- Amazon Bedrock (85): Closed service under the AWS Customer Agreement and Service Terms, with the SDKs and Smithy models under Apache-2.0 (18, as for S3).
- Antseed (59): GPL-3.0 source for the protocol, CLI, desktop app and contracts (30). No telemetry code found in the CLI (16 of 20). docs/telemetry.md is unchanged since 15 September 2026 in the 4 November clone.

## Score by category

| Category | Weight | Amazon Bedrock | Antseed | Edge |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Reliability | 16% (20 this run) | 80 | 52 | Amazon Bedrock +28 |
| Performance | 10%, pending | pending | pending | not scored in this run |
| Schema & documentation | 13% (16.2 this run) | 94 | 55 | Amazon Bedrock +39 |
| Agent ergonomics | 13% (16.2 this run) | 92 | 56 | Amazon Bedrock +36 |
| Security & auth | 14% (17.5 this run) | 98 | 45 | Amazon Bedrock +53 |
| Payments & pricing | 10% (12.5 this run) | 30 | 70 | Antseed +40 |
| Task success | 10%, pending | pending | pending | not scored in this run |
| Maintenance & community | 7% (8.8 this run) | 81 | 79 | Amazon Bedrock +2 |
| Transparency & trust | 7% (8.8 this run) | 85 | 59 | Amazon Bedrock +26 |
| Negative events | ≤15 | 0 | -3 | |
| **Total** | | **81.7 · A** | **54.1 · C** | |

## Facts side by side

| Fact | Amazon Bedrock | Antseed |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Kind | Model API | Model router |
| Vendor | Amazon Web Services | Antseed Foundation |
| Hosted endpoint | `https://bedrock-runtime.us-east-1.amazonaws.com` | no (local only) |
| Transports | HTTP | HTTP |
| Auth | OAuth or key | None |
| Pricing | Pay per use | Pay per use |
| x402 | no | no |
| Licence | Proprietary service under the AWS Customer Agreement and Service Terms. Setup needs an AWS account, IAM permissions and a Region, capabilities vary by model, and some Regions gave five older Claude models about 34 days of notice.

**Antseed.** A buyer needs no account. The CLI creates a wallet key, free models answer at once and paid ones draw on deposited USDC, with seller, tokens and cost in response headers. Sellers are unvetted and can read prompts unless TEE-verified, the proxy forwarded client credentials to them until 12 October 2026 with no advisory, and every package is pre-1.0.

## Before you call either

### Amazon Bedrock

1. Use the geographic or global inference ID from the model card, such as `global.anthropic.claude-opus-5-5`. Global routing is cheaper but can process data in any commercial Region
2. Set `data_retention_mode` to `none` in each Region before sending sensitive data. Models that need retention then return ValidationException
3. Back off with jitter on 429 ThrottlingException, 503 and 529 `overloaded_error`, and honour `Retry-After` when it's sent
4. Generate short-term API keys from an IAM role for production. Long-term keys create an IAM user and AWS marks them exploration only
5. Call ListFoundationModels in your Region and read `modelLifecycle` before pinning a model ID. Claude 3.x IDs in several Regions stop working on 13 November 2026 and requests don't redirect

### Antseed

1. Send a placeholder key such as `antseed-p2p`, and run v0.2.58 or later, which stops credential headers reaching sellers.
2. Call `GET /v1/models` first and request a concrete id. The `antseed` alias works only when the desktop app has a model selected
3. Handle 402 `insufficient_deposits` by reading `suggestedAmount`, then fund the address from `antseed buyer deposit` with USDC on Base
4. Pass `--verifiers antseed-verifier --require-verifier` to `antseed buyer start` when prompts are private, so only TEE-verified sellers are routed
5. Read `x-antseed-peer-id` and `x-antseed-estimated-cost-usd` on each response, and pin a seller with `<peerId>@<model>` when the same one must answer

## Questions

### Which is better for AI agents, Amazon Bedrock or Antseed?

Amazon Bedrock scores 81.7 (A) on agent readiness against Antseed's 54.1 (C), and leads in 6 of 7 scored categories. Antseed leads on payments & pricing.

### Do Amazon Bedrock and Antseed need an API key?

Amazon Bedrock takes an API key or an OAuth sign-in. Antseed needs no key.

### Can an agent call Amazon Bedrock and Antseed without installing anything?

Amazon Bedrock has a hosted endpoint at https://bedrock-runtime.us-east-1.amazonaws.com. No hosted endpoint is listed for Antseed.

### Are Amazon Bedrock and Antseed open source?

No open-source release is listed for Amazon Bedrock. Antseed is open source (GPL-3.0 (LICENSE in the repository).
