It is at 0.12.12 after 98 releases in 90 days, two of them breaking on 7 October 2026. No MCP client was found in the package, and code tools an agent writes run in an in-process node:vm context.\n\n**OpenAI Agents SDK.** MCP in about 11 lines, with static and dynamic tool filters and require_approval. Tracing on by default, with model and tool content, sent to OpenAI.\n\n## Before you call either\n\n### AgentOS\n\n1. Pin an exact version of @framers/agentos. Feature commits ship as patch releases while it is 0.x, and breaking changes ship as minors\n2. Leave emergentConfig.allowSandboxTools off unless forged code runs through an executor that isolates. The default executor shares the host process\n3. Pass your own ICheckpointStore to compile() for runs that must survive a restart. The default store is in memory\n4. Set hitl.approvals.beforeTool for tools that write, and choose a handler. No approval gate is on by default\n5. Use Node 22 or newer, and set a provider key such as OPENAI_API_KEY or ANTHROPIC_API_KEY. The provider is detected from the environment\n\n### OpenAI Agents SDK\n\n1. Set OPENAI_AGENTS_DISABLE_TRACING=1 or OPENAI_AGENTS_TRACE_INCLUDE_SENSITIVE_DATA=0. Through 0.23.1, RunConfig(tracing_disabled=True) doesn't stop spans inside your own trace() block\n2. Pin to a minor version. Each 0.Y can break\n3. Set require_approval on MCP servers that write\n4. Name the model explicitly. The default changed in 0.20.0\n5. Use an error handler for max_turns instead of catching MaxTurnsExceeded\n\n## Questions\n\n### Which is better for AI agents, AgentOS or OpenAI Agents SDK?\n\nOpenAI Agents SDK scores 86.2 (AA) on agent readiness against AgentOS's 75.3 (BB), and leads in 5 of 7 scored categories.\n\n### Are AgentOS and OpenAI Agents SDK open source?\n\nYes.
