Watch for: No status page or incident history was found on the site or in the docs. An SLA is listed for Enterprise plans only, with no published text ### Stripe API + MCP (A) Good for: Sellers already on Stripe who want to charge agents per call over MPP or x402 with fiat settlement, refunds and reporting, and for agents doing account work on Stripe with human approval for risky writes. nevermined suits sellers who want plans, credits and buyer-side caps; tempo is the chain MPP stablecoin payments settle on. Ahead on: - Reliability, 63 against 29 - Schema & documentation, 90 against 80 - Agent ergonomics, 94 against 63 - Security & auth, 97 against 68 - Payments & pricing, 65 against 42 - Maintenance & community, 82 against 74 - Transparency & trust, 87 against 44 Also in its favour: - Agent-ready, a grade of BB or better - Runs on your own machine - Open source Watch for: Card payments from agents have a 0.50 USD minimum, so per-call micropayments must use stablecoins ## Score by category | Category | Weight | Agentcard | Stripe API + MCP | Edge | | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Reliability | 16% (20 this run) | 29 | 63 | Stripe API + MCP +34 | | Performance | 10%, pending | pending | pending | not scored in this run | | Schema & documentation | 13% (16.2 this run) | 80 | 90 | Stripe API + MCP +10 | | Agent ergonomics | 13% (16.2 this run) | 63 | 94 | Stripe API + MCP +31 | | Security & auth | 14% (17.5 this run) | 68 | 97 | Stripe API + MCP +29 | | Payments & pricing | 10% (12.5 this run) | 42 | 65 | Stripe API + MCP +23 | | Task success | 10%, pending | pending | pending | not scored in this run | | Maintenance & community | 7% (8.8 this run) | 74 | 82 | Stripe API + MCP +8 | | Transparency & trust | 7% (8.8 this run) | 44 | 87 | Stripe API + MCP +43 | | Negative events | ≤15 | 0 | 0 | | | **Total** | | **56.5 · C** | **82.4 · A** | | ## Facts side by side | Fact | Agentcard | Stripe API + MCP | | --- | --- | --- | | Kind | HTTP API | HTTP API | | Vendor | Agentcard Corporation | Stripe | | Hosted endpoint | `https://api.agentcard.sh` | `https://api.stripe.com/v1` | | Transports | HTTP | HTTP, Streamable HTTP, stdio | | Auth | OAuth | OAuth or key | | Pricing | Freemium | Pay per use | | Price for card payments | not published | $0.30 per transaction | | x402 | no | payer tooling only | | Licence | Proprietary service under Agentcard's terms of use. No status page, published rate limits beyond the token endpoint, or privacy policy of Agentcard's own was found, and the Trust Centre could not be read. Issuing costs $5,000 a month. **Stripe API + MCP.** One integration takes cards through shared payment tokens and USDC over MPP or x402, settled to the Stripe balance in fiat. Card payments from agents have a 0.50 USD minimum, so per-call micropayments must use stablecoins. ## Before you call either ### Agentcard 1. Mint a platform token with `POST /api/v2/oauth/token` and cache it for its one hour. The endpoint allows 30 requests per 5 minutes per IP 2. Send the same `Idempotency-Key` on every retry of `POST /api/v2/cards`, and the same `idempotency_key` on every retry of `buy_checkout` 3. Pass `source: "issued"` to the MCP `create_card` tool for a card number. Without it the tool may start Vault setup and return a link 4. Call `get_card_details` only at the payment form and never log the result. Each read notifies the member and may return `approval_required` 5. Treat `transaction.authorized` and `order.*` webhooks as the record of a payment, and deduplicate deliveries on the event `id` ### Stripe API + MCP 1. Switch to an Agent-tagged restricted key or OAuth before 31 October 2026; other keys get a 401 2. Call `stripe_api_search` and `stripe_api_details` before `stripe_api_write` to get the method and parameters right 3. When a write needs approval, give the person the URL and retry only after they approve; approvals expire after 24 hours 4. Send an `Idempotency-Key` on every create so a retry can't charge twice 5. On 429, read `Stripe-Rate-Limited-Reason` and back off with jitter; a 429 without it is a lock timeout ## Questions ### Which is better for AI agents, Agentcard or Stripe API + MCP?
